Hand clap (and clones)
It's interesting, as I tend to support knockback on most other sets (yes, even solar flare - being squishier for most of its life, it makes sense to me for the PB to have a damaging "get away from me" power. So, EG and I disagree, and all is right with the universe... ) but mostly because I end up saying "... and direct it *into* controls or *into* the tank."

Solar Flare doing knockDOWN would still mitigate damage for you, without messing with your ability to defeat multiple targets quickly.
While I would agree it makes sense for squishies to have "get away from me" powers, I adamantly oppose the idea that this effect should be baked into a primary attack power.
There are only 2 damage procs that can be slotted into Hand Clap, so while sure you can proc it, you can't really "load" it.
If I'm on a team with a Tank or Brute who's Heavy handed with Handclap I stand far FARRRRRR back. I can tell you of aggro accidentally spilling over next to my squishy self getting me killed before my Hold even fires.
I think they are ok for melee sets as long as they're not baked in the powers. I think that KB works with squishes but only during solo runs. I've also been taken out from mobs that were scattered across the globe. I've learn to run and take shelter when a KB lover is on the team....unless they're a pro. I've met some amazing Energy Blast, Storm (corrs/def), PBs in my time...but they are rare.
I guess that's one of the cool things about Dual Pistols . That's KB done right I think.
Oh and the closest that I have ever come to using a KB power on the regular was Wormhole.
on my Melee "AoE ALL THE THINGS" Sonic/Elec Blaster I use it in combination with an AoE Immob to due stun. Occasionally I'll use it for the knockback.

And I use solar flare to scatter groups into other groups as well. I absolutely love knockback, I wish there were more types of knockback/knockup abilities. They just make me giggle with joy!
In the stickied 'improve tanks' thread in the tanker forum, one of the ideas I put forward was to make all non-damaging tanker powers do at least a LITTLE damage, so that incarnate powers would benefirt tankers a little more, and give players a reason to take such stinkers as handclap.
We'll see if anything happens on that front.
