Dang it, future! Stop getting so eerily close!

This is precisely why I apologized in advance as I have become accustomed to this very type of response over the years. IDK man what can I say I don't like the old pre-sixties cartoon look either, it is just a personal preference deal I think.
Anime is a broad category. I'm not sure how you can hate it so definitively. It's somewhat akin to saying "I hate comic books."
The linked series in particular deals a great deal with AR. |
Having said that, I am more than sure there is excellent ANIME, I am just not into it which does nothing to hurt the fans of the genre that love it. Some people hate football and love basketball, some even hate comic books, its a very much YMMV type deal.
Me not liking does not take anything away from the genre is what I am saying.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Oh I am on top of that kind of RL stuff because I have an interest.
Well google Google Glasses and watch the video. It's their first pass on AR. I'm sure Microsoft will soon follow with their own take on it.

My brother is an architect and a futurist. I can remember as a kid in the late sixties and early seventies him making drawings and talking about basically all of the gadgets and devices we have now.
It was strange growing up next to a person that has such vision that only now some 40 years later some of the stuff he use to talk about all the time is just starting to come out. I use to get a bit freaked out when I would see one of his car designs for instance roll of the lot decades after his drawings from our childhood.
And yes there is going to be stiff competition in the future to get people's gadgets dollar for sure. Microsoft will definitely be a player.

Another place to check out some AR is Nintendo's 3DS. There haven't been any really great implementations of it yet, but there are a few small gimmicky games. Given the recent success of Skylanders, I think someone coulld be sitting on a gold mine if they used AR and cards for unlockable content from items to characters.
Yes and too bad Wesley and data won't be here to save us with the Enterprise Disco Lights.
