Energy Melee

It did. I had that stalker for a long time before Going Rogue and before I went to the forums. He sat at 50 for what seems like forever before I rerolled him.

That or I'm just not remembering things right... it happens sometimes.

I'm with others...the big change I would recommend is reverting ET back to what it was.

It is a new game now, and I don't think the old ET would be unbalanced anymore. I think it was unbalanced in the old game, but they overnerfed it and made it useless.

A quick-animating amazing-damage ET would really bring the set back to what it was originally designed to be.

As far as making TF a TS-clone, whatever. I think TS is lame...

I know I originally played EM because of the amazingly fast ET. The slow but still self-damaging ET doesn't cut it. I deleted my EM chars, so this doesn't even benefit me.

A partial selection from my 50's on Freedom: Ail = Ice/Traps, Luck = Street Justice/Super Reflexes Stalker, Mist = Bane, Pixy = Trick Arrow/Archery, Pure = Gravity/Energy, Smoke = Fire/Fire Dominator

Yeah. Change ET and TF back, and energy melee would be fun again.

It would break the 'rules', but that's what makes it fun. The best attacks in a lot of sets break the rules.

I have an EM stalker I tried to play after the stalker changes for I22, and I couldn't get AS to crit because the assassin's focus would fade while waiting for the ultra-long animations for TF and ET to play.

I played the set purely for the awesomeness of the pink pom poms, but the changes still made me go ugggh. :/

My Fire Armor/EM tank is my favorite character of all time in CoX. But that has nothing to do with EM.

She's tremendous fun to roleplay. She's purpled and IO'd out the wazoo. Burn, Blazing Aura, Fireball help out tons.

I'd love EM improvement, as my spouse just hates it on her Ice tank now, but I don't expect it.

This is the answer. EM was absurdly OP on stalkers in the old PvP - greatly superior to every other Stalker primary. The devs made a number of mistakes balancing PvE powers for PvP and EM's treatment was one of them.

At this point the game has changed so radically that a reevaluation of the set is in order. Adding AoE is not, however; some sets are supposed to be ST specialists.

I LOVE this fix. It keeps the basic look of the set, keeps the "big hits" feel, addresses AOE and helps tanks with aggro, ads variety so that it isn't just kind of the same attack twice, isn't a big buff, just a tweak, and it would be FUN!!!

(telepathically implanting this into the minds of the devs a la Inception...)
If they'd just roll back the nerfs I'd be thrilled. It so fundamentally changed the rhythm of playing the set I had to set aside my Inv/EM tank for a year to get used to it. Even after a few respecs I still couldn't recapture the old fun. I'm enjoying her again, but I had to forget how I played her and learn the combat chain pacing anew.

The set does alright in single target, but it's woeful in AOE damage. Exemping below ET and TF it's just plain painful. When Inherent Brawl and Punch are an integral part of your attack chain until late game there's a problem.
