Discussion: March Costume Contest: Big Top Paragon City
I agree with the fact that it should not be on JUST one server, and i understand your point but it should not be for those who do not pay either that to me is an injustice and i will stand by that .....Why should i have to compete with those who do not have to pay for prizes that the Dev's decide to award that is not right in my eyes......Why does those who don't want to play on Exhalted copy their costume and create it on exhalted for the costume contest to ensure that paying players are the ones being judged...just a suggestion you don't have to play on it. It doesn't make since that a paying player on Exhalted has to copy their costume and transfer to a free server.....

Either you have to play the toon to 30 to unlock Capes and Aura's, or pay Astral Merits EACH time you want to enter with a toon. Plus, i hate the Exalted VIP server with a passion, you'll have more chance of finding a Boston Celtic fan willing to wear a Los Angeles Lakers jersey than me even selecting that server on my screen.
No, pick a diff server each time, show the new players why our Devs and our community are the best in the gaming world.

They decide how and to who they want to reward prizes.
If you don't want to compete with free/premium players... Don't enter the contest!
Simple.
Thank you, Paragon Studios, for even having a fun contest and offering prizes too!

When just copying the outfit, you still need to consider Capes and Aura's.

I guess my point is that if they are going to have the CC for all players they should Change the Servers at least each and every time they throw one not Keep it in the SAME server, not every one plays there and they are making it harder to join it since you have to be 30 for Costume parts to be available as stated by someone else......
I really don't understand what all the fuss is about - this server, that server.
Just do what I do - the devs give plenty of warning when the next CC is to be. Go to the appropriate server (they all give you 12 slots, provided you pay to play) and make a brand new char for specifically for that CC. Then join in the fun, it's supposed to encourage fun - the meaning of 'game' - not create a load of misery and unrest.
Just chillax - as today's youth says - and enjoy.
There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I'm sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. ~Author Unknown
They Need to make the standards Clear When they first came out with the Exhalted Server they stated it would be a Privilege to join in on the Costume Contests for VIP players and now it is open to everyone Plus Exhalted has to move characters to Virtue that is just wrong when EVERY player on Exhalted is a VIP player! And why should Exhalted have to copy (and do without locked costumes) and move to virtue if that is NOT Their Preference???

I'm guessing those people never join frequent flyer programs, never participate in "buy eight, get the ninth free" promotions at sandwich shops, and refuse to accept bonuses at work, unless all their coworkers get one too. In short, they are better people than you or me.

As far as being on the same server. You mean the one that held it in Dec., Jan., Feb., and now March?
If it isn't thier preference to make a toon on Virtue then so be it. Host a CC on Exalted. Enter a CC on Exalted. You will get a small group of people, because there is only a small group of people on Exalted. But if you host one on Virtue or Freedom you have the entire pool of players that could join. Its the difference in marketing to just your town on the local TV station and marketing on National Network.
We held part one of the Big Top Paragon City costume contest this morning. There were some pretty epic entries that made the decision for War Witch and Positron incredibly difficult. Here were their top selections. Congratulations to those who won!
Part two starts at 6PM PDT - get your costumes ready!

Was Human Tamer an MM? He really should have some human pets

Human Tamer DID have a 'human pet'.... ME!! I played the role of Bob the Tamed Human!! It was a blast.
I'm looking forward to seeing the winners from the later contest as well.
I didn't get a chance to see them, but, based on the name, one of them had the same theme as mine.
I saw some great costumes and received a lot of very nice comments (thank you!).
It was nice to see WW walking around Pocket D too! Oh, and Posi and the others as well, of course...

Here are the winners of part two of our Big Top Paragon City costume contest. We'd like to thank everyone who came out and showed off some incredible creativity. Positron & War Witch both had a difficult time selecting winners.

Yeah it's sour grapes; what the heck?
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

...I did this one, albeit different colors, in Part One(I couldn't do part two due to work), and didn't even make the semi-finals... (I can't figure how the name was grabbed as I didn't delete it either)

...But, if you're going to mention this...
I had a bearded lady costume as well - Madame Beard.
I received a lot of compliments about it, but I kept telling everyone that I didn't expect to be chosen at all.
When they announced that Bearded-Lady had won, I was really eager to see what costume actually placed with the same, bearded lady, concept that I had. I honestly figured it was done better than mine and was eager to see it!
I was in PD1 and I guess they were in another one.
I'll just say that... I feel better about my costume than this version.
It almost leaves me wondering if there was a name mix-up... hah... but I don't mind, hehe.
There may be other understandable reasons that this costume won over mine and I have no negativity about it... Just a bit of a Huh? reaction though, hehe.
Maybe they didn't let me win because of my annoying posts in this thread!!
For those curious, here's Madame Beard: 1 2 3 4 5
Really though, I apologize if it seems like I'm griping or putting anyone down (beyond a friendly costume challenge for fun sort of a way).
I only join in on these contests for the fun, both in making the costumes and in seeing everyone there!
So, again, congratulations!!

It's just...it's the same name(I can't figure out how that's possible; my toon with that name is still on Virtue), and an almost identical costume. It's maddeningly frustrating. It's like, why did I bother?

Most likely to answer to the same name is either the o was replaced with a 0. So Bearded Woman is now BEARDED W0MAN. Or the person just put a . at the end of the name and the Devs didn't on the photo.
