Scrapper's Strike, Critical Hit Question

Posted

Hello all.
Today, I used some of my reward tokens to buy Hero Packs. I was primarily looking for the rezzes and the various boosters which will make double XP more enjoyable.

I got enough of the goodies I was looking for to make me smile, and among my booty I also received two of the Scrapper's Strike Critical Hit bonus ATO, and as well as one of the fury generating one for Brutes.

My question is, into which power should I slot this "Scrapper Strike" in my Kin Melee/Shield scrap?

Should I put it in my fastest animating power, which so far is Quick Strike? Or should I put it in my most damaging power so far, which, since I am only level 13, is Smashing Blow.

This, the Kin/Shield is going to be one of my two main double XP toons...the other being my Dark/Energy Dom.

Thanks Very much in advance

Lisa

The Scrapper's crit bonus proc doesn't actually matter which attack you slot it in. It affects all your powers just by being slotted anywhere.

The Brute one, on the other hand, should be slotted in a power with relatively long recharge time, that you will also put recharge enhancements in and use often, to maximize the effect of the proc-per-minute formula.

I believe the Critical Hit bonus is a global boost to all of your skills, so that aspect doesn't matter. The only aspect that actually procs is the boost to recharge, and for that I would put it in a skill with a longer recharge rather than your fastest attack. It will have a higher proc rate, and when it does proc it will be guaranteed to affect a more powerful skill that has a longer recharge-- because that's the skill that was just used.

The recharge portion of the ATO procs is an enhancement, not a proc itself.

And, as mentioned, the Scrapper crit bonus is a global buff. Once you slot the ATO, you'll notice a pink Hasten icon as a constant buff. If you catalyze it, it turns into a Darkest Night icon, and offers a better chance to crit and more recharge from the enhancement.

One other thing: the standard version can be used from level 10 up. The catalyzed version, while offering greater bonuses, can only be used at level 50.

Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

Well that makes sense. Too bad it can't be tossed into brawl...

Yep! At least the buff is showing up anyway, and its info text has The changed numbers listed that Synapse mentioned on the beta forum. I haven't tested it personally, but I assume it's fixed.

I haven't tested it personally, but it should be fixed. It was on beta for sure and they deployed the same build when I22 went live.

Speaking of which, I HATE the icon for it. The regular one was like a pink fist icon, but the Superior one looks like a Darkest Night icon for some reason, like a debuff.
