A couple of things that have caused this is the past are trying to do a respec after levelling but before training and trying to do a respec while on a Task Force, AE missio or Oro arc. Don't know if any of those are still a problem.

Just logged back in and the respec worked fine...
None of those things were true at the time it wasn't working. The only thing I can think of is that I was set as not accepting group invites. Don't know how or why that would matter but it's the only thing different between now and when it didn't work. :/

Were you trying to pick a power that you normally could not have at a particular level. Example You can pick the medicine pool at level 3, but I think the lowest level is 4. I kept getting a respec fail because of it. End result I had to pick another power and then I could pick up Aid Other from the medicine pool.
After my 2nd attempted respec I started to troubleshoot to figure it out. It took me over 1 hour of wasted time to figure it out.

My spider is 32, I just respecced him successfully (Crab). I switched builds and went to respec his second build for a Bane. When I finish respeccing the bane build it doesn't actually respec me and I get a pop-up that says 'Respec Failed' and my only option is to click 'OK'. Global chat log shows no message.
I tried waiting the 10min for the build switch timer in case that was it, but I could switch builds now if I wanted and the respec still fails!
