Coming back to the Basics... (BS/WP re-speccing a 3-year-old toon.)

So, I've gotten back into CoH after a few years, and I'm looking at my first fifty, and wondering 'what the hell was I thinking?' But now that I have time and the drive to start getting this guy setted out (Though Purples are more or less out of the question, unless I get amazingly lucky), and I'm looking at this and wondering...

1. What can I do with 3 spare powers now that Fitness will be inherent.
2. What can I do with sets to make this guy a beast on the battlefield?
3. What the hell was I -thinking- when I rolled this guy?

Powers and slots are in wrong order because I seriously don't remember what order I put them in. I'm not sure where I want to take this guy; I've got people telling me to spam Obliteration and enjoy massive defense, others tellin' me Mako's, etc. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd love to hear advice or suggestions (or people's own mockups) on what direction to take this in my next respec.

Answers for your questions;

1) Get fighting pool for extra resist and defense it will be three powers to place boxing, tough and weave.

2) It's really hard to answer this one for me since WP is something I didn't touch myself but considering its a type defense set try to get s/l defense to softcap and energy and negative defense to %32.5 or higher so you can softcap them with one small purple inspiration. For your lethal defense take parry into consideration and make it part of your attack chain.

From there its either resistance or regen but WP is a set that provides both on middle level. On a personal level I would prefer regen since you don't need to follow 4 or 6 different set bonuses for it like you need to do with resist.

Once you handled survivalibility of your character focus on recharge. Get hasten perma or as close as possible (123 s recharge for example or lower) %175 global recharge usually does the trick (included hasten) After you get hasten perma focus on getting damage buffs from sets and slot your attack powers accordingly.

Put achilles's heel -res damage proc into your most used attack in your chain as well as the attack that recharges fastest. Also achille's doesnt stack with itself so puttint it in two powers does not increase its efficiency.

Don't frankenslot one piece of a set unless its a proc aim for getting set bonuses and only frankenslot if you need two sets bonuses on same power or you are getting some set bonuses and need to fill blanks with hami-o's or normal IO enhancements.

3) I think you were thinking about making a hard-to-kill character with big orange numbers flowing overyour enemies head when you made this toon.

I've been kicking around a rebuild of my BS/WP scrapper, too, and this is where I'm at. Needs a bit of tweaking, yet, but it's pretty solid.

Took confront to force larger numbers into melee faster (as it has the -75% range debuff, same as taunt, according to Mids). 1 Parry from the Lethal and Melee softcap. Well, actually, 1 parry from the lethal iTrial softcap, even. 2 Parries puts you at melee def iTrial softcap. Then the trick is just staying in melee..

2 Performance Shift +End procs.

Appx 60/hp a sec regen with 1 enemy in range.

I'd definitely go with Musculature and pick up the +end, too, just to be safe. If you do, you could move the end reduction IO slot from Focused Acc to boxing and add the floating slot, there, too, and put 3 Scrapper ATOs and that would put you over the s/l/e/n caps without even having to have parried.

With BS/WP, it's all about Parry/Regen, and getting as many HP as ya can.

Recharge is nice, but with 4 or 5 attacks, and sprinkling in Parry, you'll have a full chain regardless.

It still needs some tweaking, but this should put you on a good start to a very rugged scrapper.

I just tweaked the above build with my own twist. Love WP, and with this particular build, u oughta be good. This version gives you 46.7% def to S&L and NRG/NegNRG without parry turned on. I also chose agility for the incarnate power, which will put u up to 48% to the 4 above mentioned def without parry. With parry, Melee def is put up to 47%. Agility + Parry u get 52.1% melee def. Also gave you a higher end mod count, and higher recharge.

Hope this helps ya out.

EDIT: I did get rid of Strength of Will. Its a useless power with this kind of defense. If you need an extra boost, just pick up Barrier for higher lvl game play.

EDIT: The powers aren't in any particular order, I just got the numbers that u need for a survivable build. Ill leave the order in which u choose up to u and your play style.
