Did I miss something?

Ok, I do lots of tip missions. I like my hero merits and all that, plus many of the old arcs for 30+ are pretty awful. I always plow through Croatoa and RWZ arcs because they are at least decent, but then it is tips for a while.

So I've been doing the same set of tip missions for ages now (since a bit after GR). This morning I got invited to a tip team, and we did two hero tips in a row that I'd never seen before.

The first had to do with Cabal captured by Crey and you have to rescue them.

The second was rescue a general (forgot his name ) from Praetorians.

OK, why have I not been seeing these myself? They were hero tips like I always do. I can't see the random tip generator completely missing two out of the set this consistently.

They aren't completely new, but I do think they are newer. I haven't run tips much since iTrials came out, but I do remember seeing those two. The IDF one stands out in particular, because I usually run on x6-8, and that was rough.

So I just have rotten luck? Odd.

The two you mentioned, especially the IDF one, are most likely rogue to hero missions rather than actual hero missions. At the very least I remember my rogue earning hero credit for rescuing General Aarons.

That does sound right. I recall the dialog casting you as annoyed that the Cabal witches didn't have any real reward for you for saving them.

Yeah, the Rogue -> Hero "Hero" missions and the Hero -> Hero missions are different. Personally, I think they should open them up and make them all have Hero/Vigilante/Rogue options for all the possible missions for variety's sake (as well as to give the gray alignments a few more gray things to do on the other side).

On this subject, I remember when I "went active again" in October, there was the Halloween event stuff going on, which included the one tip mission you could get only during Halloween (the one where you rescue the Malleus Mundi from Libris Vermis, then at the end you get a menu of what to do with it). Are there any more tips like that one that only drop at certain times of year? A winter one would have been cool, but I don't think such a thing exists.

There wasn't one in the winter, but there are going to be Valentine's Day Tips when the Spring Fling starts this week.

Can confirm those two as being Rogue -> Hero missions. Was running them just the other day on my re-named Stalker I was taking Hero side XD

Yeah, I just took one of my heroes to villain and then back to hero over the last week, and I was kind of sad that there are all of these unfamiliar hero missions that I don't see at any other time. Also kind of cool, I suppose. I guess the only way to do them on a regular basis would be to play a rogue and always refuse to turn hero when you get the chance after every 10 missions...

I don't do it very often, but I do have "pure" Rogues that I never intend to be heroes, and I sometimes run tip missions on them for a change of pace. I'm sure that's where I saw these.

OK that explains it. I've only taken a rogue over to hero all the way once, and it was in the 20s. These were 40+ missions.

Nonsense! You get a crystal that prevents headaches, an orb that predicts the weather and a ring that prevents sunburn.

Those are ah-mazing rewards!

The hero-to-stay-hero tips are different from the rogue-to-become-hero tips. The two you did were of the latter variety.

These two are pretty useless in Paragon City. There is no weather, and I think something in the mediport system prevents any kind of skin color change unless forced by some unseen presence behind a theoretical giant invisible computer monitor in the sky.
