Room height gauge

What is an acceptable scale for room height when creating multi-level multi-tiered rooms? When creating false ceilings I tend to make base them off the character I'm building with. She is a petite thing when I compare her with the average Tanker's size. Normally I use a safe as the building block... what would you consider a height that would not cause drain bramage to the taller characters running about the base?

for 2 floors, most i have seen max out the actual room height then build the false ceiling at about the midway point so theres plenty of room to stand even more max size characters

I have a saved costume for one slot on my builder character. I use the Huge size, dragon or bioluminescent wings (the dragon are larger, though), max out the height and leg sliders, and add the tallest mohawk. This creates the absolute tallest in game character possible.

Seeing as my main builder is a teeny, petite, 4' elf, such a measure is needed.

Typically if only two floors, I can leave a bit of floor and ceiling for imbedding items. For three floors, I have to raise the ceiling, but the floor bit can stay). I don't recommend more than three floors.

The minimum clearance you need is 8 feet, I believe. If you don't mind low ceilings (may require you to alter your camera angle) you don't need to allow for more than that.

If you'd prefer a bit of headroom, I think 12 feet feels about right for the most part, and it's easy to build with. 12Feet=3Safes=4Desks

There are 48 "feet" to max room height (lowest floors, highest ceilings).

Consider, that for each "floor" you will be taking up 3 feet just for flooring.

So, if you go for a min 8 ft space, when you factor in your floor you will actually be using 11 total feet.

I actually tend to build for a minimum 10 ft space, if I'm not putting any tall items on the floor. I believe the tallest items are 16 ft.

Dunno if that helps, it really depends on what you intend to use the space for, and what you intend to fill it with.

For quick measuring, I tend to use the (smaller) yellow standing lanterns. Each "segment" is about a foot.

Thanks for the responses. Just starting to look at making a base that is aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. Have a spare room that I'm trying out ideas (read stealing) that have seen in these forum.

...and for some reason I suddenly feel the need to make an alt with dragon wings and a giant mohawk.

For usable rooms (with cameras and the like) 16 feet (four safes) seems to be ideal. 12 feet (three safes) is workable, but can get tight. If there's more horizontal space (fewer walls) to swing your camera, then the tightness is less of an issue.

Bonus fun fact: The absolute minimum clearance that a character of ANY height can walk 'under' is 7 feet. This applies equally to a 4' imp and an 8'+ mohawked dragon.

I think measuring heights in Mohawked Dragons would be a nice standard.

I personally try to maintain a minimum 12' height. The largest characters are 8' tall, but an 8' ceiling tends to feel cramped.

That's pretty much 3 floors, maximum, due to floor thickness.
