Is Radiation Emission still great for AV/GMs?

KK, I was wrong about "un-resistible", no worries admitting that. How much of the -500% is resisted now? I know for sure that even resisted it makes any big game fight a lot shorter.

And please do not be putting words into my mouth... I am not arguing anything to do with incarnates and purple I/Os. The original question is "Is Radiation Emission still great for AV/GMs?" and it is.

Well, AVs and GMs resist -regen debuffs to the tune of 85% at lvl 50. So that big mighty -500% regen debuff is now a 75% regen debuff. If AV is higher lvl, the purple patch also diminishes the effectiveness of regen debuffs. +4 AV? First divide the 500% in 2 to get 250%. Now the AV resists 87% of that. Now the -500% regen debuff is 32.5%.

A net -32.5% regen on an AV is still really nice.

AV regen is freakishly high. This means you end up with a small percentage of a big number, which comes out to be a decent sized result.

Looking back at the thread title, though, wasn't it pretty much over at "Yes"?

Pretty much. I want to thank everyone for their responses. The reason I asked the question was that I am needing to roll up a defender to assist in AV/GM defeats, and I wanted to use Radiation if I could as I never really played it and the most current info I knew about the set was several years old. This thread has brought me up to speed, and thankfully the powerset is still as powerful as I remember it being.

Thank you all again!

Yeah, rad's still great. You might be a bit sad-faced that you can't damage cap brutes or anything, but who gives a ****?

It depends a bit on how much you intend to invest in the build, Cold has significant advantages IF you have a high end, high recharge build, but its debuffs are on longer timers then Rad. If you plan for a SO/common IO/frankenslotted build, its hard to beat Rad for just general utility.

Pair anything with the /Sonic secondary blast set, and you will contribute hugely to any AV/GM melting, by the way, the -resistance debuffs stack.

I have a rad/rad and the issue I have is during incarnate content, getting toggles dropped, or constantly having to reactivate both of them... because the target is dropped quickly, phases, or a variety of other reasons.

The toon over all is great, but not for incarnate content. I enjoy my fire/storm corruptor more for incarnate trials.

YMMV---IMO
