Could this run COH on a tablet?
If you read the article closer you would notice that the office apps are running on the app companies central server and all the app does is pass user input to the central server running virturalized Windows 7 instances and displays essentially screen updates.
Typing text and handling popups and pull down menus is a bit less dynamic, by an order of magnitude or three, than a 3D game like CoH.

Even if a full windows 7 were available for the ipad 2, no way. The iPad2 only has 512 mb of ram, plus its processing power is less than a netbook. For example, on my iPad2 my forum avatar turns into a slideshow (simpler animated gifs are ok).
The reason the iPad2 works so smoothly is that it freezes other apps, it doesn't have true multitasking like my Android phone (which also has less processing power than a netbook so when I go overboard on programs running at the same time it gets very slow). Even individual browser tabs are frozen and reloaded when you switch to them again so that the browser can run well with multiple tabs open.
The iPad 2 (and now the iPhone 4s) can run gorgeous games (Dead Space, which has console gameplay unlike Infinity Blade, another beautiful game but limited gameplay) due to having a very powerful GPU but I believe the games must be specifically built for it.
Yeah I'm not quite sold on the idea of trying to play a real MMO on a tablet just yet.
But maybe in a few years (like on an iPad 4 or 5+) the improved hardware will allow it to become a more realistic possibility.

I've tried something... similar to this. Well, sorta, but not really.
I have a HP Touchpad and a nifty app called Splashtop.
Basically it allows remote access to my PC from anywhere I have an internet connection. It lets me see and control my desktop as if the Tablet were the monitor of the other PC.
Kinda similar to how LogMeIn looks.
Anyway, I attempted to play CoH through it.
It was laggy and choppy.
Chatting was semi-doable. Moving around was semi-doable.
Actually "playing," not so much.

There are some MMOs for iOs and Android. Pocket Legends and Order & Chaos Online, the second one is paid (with subscription) but you can play via facebook with the unity plugin (free till level 10 i think). Basically it's a dumbed down version of WoW, haven't tried pocket legends which I think is 'freemium'.

I wonder if something like this would be powerful enough to run COH on the iPad2 or other tablets?
Maybe not this initial version, but maybe on iPad 3?
One can dream.
