/leave Help - how?

Is there any way to get the [Help] channel chat out of my Global chat window? Deleting the Help tab simply, well, deletes the Help tab, leaving Help chat scrolling through my Global window (which leaves me wondering why Help even has its own tab).

It's not that I have any real issue with Help chat, it's just that sometimes when the channel is busy it ends up really cluttering the Global window. And I like having the Global window active, since that's where missions dump all the info when I click on a glowie or get a drop. It would be nice to be able to scroll back to review something I might have missed without having to also scroll through a ton of Help chatter.

If I can't get Help out of the Global window, then is there a way to set up a special tab/window that will only show mission info, XP/Inf earned, and "loot" drops (basically, the green text stuff) and leave out the various blue text (Help chat and NPC chatter)?

I don't know why they suddenly had to force the help channel into your global tab. It used to only appear on the help tab... but I guess that was too easy to ignore. Now when I make a new character, I can be annoyed by spam instantly!

Because this past September the game went Free to Play and Free accounts have draconian chat restrictions so they put all the channels Free accounts use on the same tab.

I know, you think there's got to be more to it than that. Well there is. Someone at the company, we don't know who, has a very low opinion about the intelligence of Free players. They didn't think Free players are smart enough to figure out how to toggle between tabs or how to edit the channels in their chat tabs.

Don't believe me? Well, just look at the new tutorial. It was dumbed down because it was too hard compared to the old one. In the old tutorial players actually learned vital game mechanics. (If they took the time to read the pop up windows) Now those same mechanics are instead taught during the first AP story arcs.

Like how players aren't taught how to go to a trainer to level up until level 5, because they are too stupid to realize what trainers do during the 4 times they went to a trainer to level up before getting to level 5.

I hadn't really looked at the tutorial till the other day when I was trying to get my wife to play, and holy crap is that confusing for new players. It is really pretty and exciting but I feel like the old tutorial was much more informative.

As for the help channel. I still keep it open to answer any questions if they come up (few and far between DfB requests). It was hilarious today though to see someone having a one sided conversation with someone who was sending him tells and him replying on the help channel.

I don't think the plan was to be overly informative, I think it was to drop them into the game as quickly as possible so they get hooked on what it has to offer.

I believe that's why the tutorial experience per se was shortened, but the "extended tutorial" introductory mission chain was implemented.

True enough, although I feel like you learn more from Twinshot than from Matt Habashy (I was going to check on this but paragonwiki is down for SOPA/PIPA, and I don't want to play through them again).

I just felt the old tutorial was friendly for introducing new players to the game. My wife isn't very video game savvy so I definitely had to help her get through the intro - and she was frustrated that she kept having to ask for my help.
I'm sure they'll give it another update like when the updated the original tutorial. They can't get everything perfect the first time through.

Do what I do. Set up one character's chat windows just the way you want them. Globals, everything. Go to options, scroll to the bottom of the first page, and save your window settings and your chat settings. Granted, the window settings means ALL of your windows. Map, chat, so on and so forth. I do it because I have a second chat window. You may not need to.

New character, load chat settings & window settings if you saved them too.
