CoH crashing often.
By any chance are you using a custom login screen? Samuraiko was having similar issues when zoning and noticed that her custom screen was coming up as the load screen while zoning when she crashed.
I haven't heard from her since she took that screen out as to whether or not it's fully resolved the problems, but if you have a custom screen it would be a good thing to try.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

And i crash when not loading as well, just standing idle in talos can make me crash.

No idea then and not really able to tell anything from the CoH Helper report since it's missing all of the game settings.
Did you right-click CoH Helper and select Run as Administrator?

One thing Ive noticed is that when you are in game and then hit the windows key to go to another program...I get a flash of a game screen from hours before. Why does it do this?
My system used to crash with the memory error. I deleted the PIGG directory. Repaired the game. And then defragged my computer. Haven't gotten a crash since then. Zone loading still seems long though.
Playing on Freedom
i crash alot myself too. but i only crash when i am zoning or leaving or entering a mission.
ever since issue 21 has dropped, i have this problem. before 21 i never had crashing problems at all

Well Neko, the only time I had messages like these were when my 8800 GT was in the process of dying.
If you crash while just moving or standing in Talos, I would try playing the game in safe mode and seeing if you crash then.
What sorts of temps are you getting in your machine? Are you running dual 580s?
H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

And no, i run a single 580.
The only things changed is CoH been patched i'm fairly certain something with CoH itself is wrong. The question is what, I am suspecting its one of the graphic settings, because with everything off its stable, as i play normally, unstable. and i really don't wanna go thru every single setting to figure out which because that'd take hours and hours.

I kind of doubt its my card dying, as CoH is the only game crashing for me and i'm playing far more graphics intensive games than CoH. Plus the air coming out of the case feels quite cool to me.
|
Of course the air coming from your case feels cool to you, the whole intent of cooling fans is to pull cool air through the case and cool everything down. The cool air situation is like setting a space heater in front of a pile of tissue then setting a box fan in the doorway of your apartment. The fact that the air blowing out of the apartment feels cool doesn't mean that the paper isn't being heated to the combustion point.
The only way to be sure that the temperature of the gpu is in the safe zone is to use a temperature monitoring program while playing the game. Get into a graphically intense situation and alt-tab out to see the temperature.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
I've started crashing quite often now as of late. Last i played actively was before the december update. I had zero issues then, game would never crash for me.
Now tho when i try play, i usually crash when zoning (50-50 chance), and sometimes just standing still doing nothing.
The error messages are either the OpenGL timeout, or graphics driver stopped responding.
Suspect it has something to do with the latest update as i had no issues prior to that, question is, what did they break with it, so i can switch it off.
I have the latest driver installed, and i even reinstalled it. I downloaded coh on my worklaptop, and that seems to run ok, but then i run with everything off as opposed to everything on max on my desktop.
heres the cohhelper if anyone wanna see:
Didn't bother with a hijack this as the only thing i've changed with my computer since then is changing from IE8 to firefox.
