New stuff to fight
You are tired of it?
Care to tell me the last time this happened to you in game? I was more thinking of a "gimmick" for something, ie huge *static* pool of "cosmic goo" that gives an "incarnate debuff" till its effects are CM'd or somesuch other. So it wouldnt be permanent, it would even be avoidable (dont go in the goo, you wont like it)... and as long as the AV fight was not too vicious with knockbacks, I don't actually see what the problem would be. *shrugs* But hey, with people complaining about -res -def debuffs being used against them and there being a way to solve that (kill the telepaths), then i guess players *dont* like the mobs playing "fair", as in "doing what players can do". The most *evil and vicious* fight i can imagine would be a 12/18 villain AV fight, where the AV's are actual clones of players with the HP/enhancement slotting/accolades of the player they are cloning. It would be fun as hell for me to see in the background, as it would mean that you would have to be *very very* careful on who you take. And pray that you dont have a feck load of debuffers on your side, just in case the mobs decide to nuke your support. |
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
This gets into the "you can't tickle yourself" problem, however. Yes, I can make enemies of my own, but by the time I get to fighting them, they really aren't new stuff any more. They're stuff I made. I suppose I could make them, shelf them and then fight them a year down the line when I've forgotten, but I've never been able to plan that far ahead.

Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I'd say avoid the built in search like the plague (it's utter garbage and the devs have shown no interest in fixing it) and use various forum resources.
if you do try Search, try 4 stars.
I find 5 stars are almost always farms or other garbage.
But really the thing to do is check out the AE board and look for arcs there. Lots of arc reviews and you can get a sense of which ones you want to try
If you want an author who takes his work and his stories seriously, look up @Neon Rider. His work is all canon-based but he has also worked some of his own villain groups and arch villains into his evolving mythology. I've been exploring player-made arcs since the get-go, and I've seen many one-hit wonders. Neon Rider's collection has been a rare find--his stuff is intelligent and entertaining every single time.
And Zamuel and Dug are correct about using MA forum resources (and don't forget review sites and blogs); if you're using the MA's search filters to find good stories to play, you're doing it wrong.
@Captain-Electric Detective Marvel The Sapien Spider Moravec Man The Old Norseman
Dark-Eyes Doctor Serpentine Stonecaster Skymaiden The Blue Jaguar
Guide to Altitis A Comic for New Players The Lore Project Intro to extraterrestrials in CoH
