Melt Armor -- Epic Power Pool Question

Yes I know some people hate this power, I am actually considering it. I have a character that can currently stack -70% resistance on a single target and this could bump that up to 79.75%...

1) Is this power autohit?

2) What kind of slotting does this power need?

3) What sets does this power take?

Don't you have Mid's?

The power needs acc, takes defdebuff and accurate defdebuff sets and probably needs recharge and endreduction since it's a completely garbage version of the thermal one, with extremely long recharge and laughable -resist values, plus it costs a ton of endurance for the little it does.

Ok well my other option would be to go Energy Mastery and take either:

Focused Accuracy + Physical Perfection

Conserve Power + Physical Perfection

FA + CP

Thing is, I would not be able to dedicate any slots to these powers. With that being said, I do currently have a lot of endurance issues but I am not sure if that would be solved by Tier 4 Cardiac. I currently am Inv/TW...

Well since Epic Melt Armor's values are so bad, to get the minimum acceptable mileage from it you'd need to 5 or 6-slot it, more than CP and PP together.

I have a terribly inefficient endhog SS/Fire Brute with Mu Mastery and Spiritual I use mainly for farming, but even without Consume and Cardiac he does just fine on 50 content like TFs and Trials because of Ageless Destiny (T3), which also bumps recharge. I guess with CP+PP and Ageless you'll be fine even if you go Spiritual Radial, a good one for TW and Invul since it also increases Healing and Tohit (for invincibility).

For the most part, I've only taken this power as something I had to take to get to Fireball.

Slots are hard to spare - and with IOs, to make the most use of a power, you need at least two. I've noticed on my brute, when fury is built, and build up and fiery embrace, opening with melt armor - it does seem to work okay - though it is a real end heavy power - so I follow up with consume. Burn generally does the rest except for the bosses.

For my tank, I've got it - but it's unslotted - I don't even use it. I had the idea to slot a chance proc in there - but without an accuracy, I figured the odds would be even less than 10%.

If you're solo - I think melt armor is not gonna be anything to worry about. If you team, it's going to mean even less.

But, you ask good questions.

I've been picking up Melt Armor on my Tanks and Brutes, including working it in on respec of older characters. I didn't know about the poor numbers, but I never really looked into it. I was more concerned about adding a debuff to my repertoire for the times where I might be on a team that's lacking any. In the meantime, it seems to work well as another AOE taunt. It has always seemed to me that NPCs are particularly pissed when debuffed. I have it 4 slotted.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Its end heavy and its not as good as a thermals.

But that does not mean its not worth taking.

Example my Shield elec brute with fire

Im purpled so my acc is soo high that it hits with only a little acc from the ios. Its 5 slotted so i get good bonuses and since Im incarnate t4 the end is not an issue.

Go for it but go all the way. If your gonna go cheap on this one. I say all the comments about it are correct unless your going all in.

then do it love it and have a waffle.
