Extra slots

I'm going to keep this simple. I believe that all characters should get 5 slots at 50 instead of 3. The reason being is any power chosen at 49 can only have 4 slots at most. This seems counterproductive to the idea that all powers are useful. The addition of 2 slots would allow every power to be fully slotted, regardless if it was chosen at character creation or 49.

I can get behind this idea. With the current slotting configuration both the level 47 and 49 power picks are limited in their viability due to the reduced number of slots available. As it stands now, I (and I assume many others) usually use my level 47 and 49 power picks for things I don't need to slot much anyway and put the 48 and 50 slots in other powers.

I remember reading about the Devs trying to figure out a way to start the 3 slots per slot level at 25 when Freedom was in beta but there was an issue with the code.

Not that that would alleviate the issue with level 49 power pick, but it would certainly add more slots over all. Maybe giving more slots at 50 is more possible than 3 at 25, 27, and 29 and would both solve the problem of only ever being able to 4 slot your level 49 power pick AND give us a few more slots to play with in general.

5 slots at both 48 AND 50 would be even better since the only way to get 6 slots in your level 47 pick is to use some of the level 50 slots, leaving the 49 power with even fewer slots.

They already want to add 3 slots as he just mentioned, and I too wish it was at 50 instead of their original plan, which was in the 20s.

And to elaborate further, adding the extra slots apparently broke a few systems which kept them from doing it right away.

I, too, have long felt there should be the option to fully slot level 49. I hope this comes to pass.

I also thought and still think a 3rd added slot should be awarded at Level 2 (total at Lvl 2 then = 3) making a grand total of 70 slots across all levels, a appealing round number.

A new toon has 3 regular powers and 4 Inherent Fitness powers that may need slotting, all at that one level. No other level ever has this many new choices. I can't tell you how many times I have wanted that one extra slot early. In the past many have riduculed this idea saying that slots that early are pretty useless since the possible enhancers are so puny. My response is that perhaps you need to reconsider slotting a power early, as I know I could find a good use for that third slot. Particularly as I now have the 5 Vet SO grade enhancer/procs. As for an extra slot being more useful later, if you have allocated the extra slot at level 2 properly you will have more flexibilty all the way to Lvl 50, imho.

But I think I will remain a voice in the wilderness on this idea of a lvl 2 extra.

Hope we see an increase of any kind though, as the change to inherent fitness has really thinned out the available slots for the rest of the build.

Most of the time I am fine with the number of slots now. It makes building interesting and challenging, the slots are actually worth something. The biggest exception are Khelds. So many powers that need slots. :/'

Also, there are some powers that I wish could have more than 6 slots. Things like Siphon Life that need Acc, End red, Recharge, Damage and Heal, or Dark Regeneration which I would love to slot for End red, Recharge, Acc, Heal, Proc and Taunt. >.>

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Five slots at 50! It makes a lot of sense, and ends the 'powers peter out' at the top end thing.

An AT&PGD thread about the obvious necessity of sweeping buffs? Am I late?

Without even beginning to consider the potential numerical value of two or four additional slots added to every character across the board, this is a bad idea simply because it makes building good characters that much easier. It's already really dang easy, fellows. You may have noticed that last issue they made it easier still by bumping 41, 44 and 47 powers down to 35, 41 and 44. Now you can take travel powers basically any time you want. You get fitness for free. How easy do you want this game to be?

But wait, there's more. Not happy with the enhancement values you were getting before issue 19? Buck up, friend, because here's the alpha slot which can give you an effective thirty thousand extra enhancements worth of value. Oh you couldn't fit in all the attacks you wanted? Good thing judgement is like having a twelve slotted nuke, one of whose enhancements simply reads "AND IT DONT CRASH NO MORE." You get pets, you get buffs, you get a better-than-purple damage proc added to every single one of your attacks as well as many non-attacks all at the cost of zero slots. This game is really easy!

So here we are. We need more. This game is too hard. I want a lollie.

Please tell me you're all joking.

Well, Please, yes extra slots would make the game somewhat easier, and make building somewhat less challenging, but yes we are serious.

Personally I want the option to make every toon as perfect as possible, and the current slot progression makes that impossible. I think that, aesthetically and mechanically, a very small number of extra slots is needed. Until every power comes with six slots free you will still have to make choices, and even at 69 or 70 slots there will be many things you can't squeeze in.

In addition, Free-2-Play and Premium players do not have access to many of the recent add-ons you complain about. A 70 slot build would be a good thing for them. We live in a two tiered community now and that is what it is.

As to game difficulty, X 3 and X 4 level play, even with incarnate powers, can still be challenging, at least to some of us, but I am completely cool with a game wide rebalance of PvE opposition, giving them some of the same oommph we have been getting.

One thing is certain, just as the world we actually live in constantly changes and evolves, so too Must the game, if only to stay fresh and fun. And the Devs on high have, in the past before I started playing, shown that they will fix errors such as implementing ED. Or since I started playing the BotZ nerf. Like ancient Greeks, we live at the whim of the Dev Gods, and they can fix, or not fix, anything. As long as we worship them with our fees !
