Thinking about pvp (controllers)
Controllers can most definitely get OTHER PEOPLE KILLED BY OTHER PEOPLE, but if you want all the kills for yourself you may have a harder time. I'd suggest mind control for a good damage type, ability to bypass many defenses, and some extra long holds if the information about Total Domination is still true. You can pair it with anything to suit your playstyle. Force Field will give you more survival but force bolt is redundant on a Mind Troller cus you already have levitate... so Sonic Ressonance would give you some survival and a less useless power: Sonic Siphon. If you want to use a tried and true pvp set like Rad or Thermal you will have all the tools you need, even without 28bil inf builds.

/Poison still rocks even after the hold nerf. Just saying.
I don't know that I've come across a controller that actually does good solo damage, to the point that it poses a threat to the other damage AT's out there. That being said, as far as teams to there are plenty of options. Plant/Time not being one of them though.
Gravity I'd have to say is the top primary for disruption, mind probably for damage.
Secondaries you have support/buff - Emp, Therm, Kin.
Debuff - Cold, Poison, Storm, Rad
Disruption - TA/FF/Sonic.
Since you can't break someones mez protection anymore and wear them down that way, its likely best to team up on a controller and go from there.
ice/poisons are boss, and do insane damage when built right with a **** ton of procs.
@Psycho Jas
I meant duels on lolTriumph (i'm saving the server transfers to Freedom for good builds)
Until about a month ago, I hadn't played coh since i12. So I don't know every little detail about pvp yet; neither of you had to be an ******* about it.

The only person whose pvp skills I insulted was myself, thank you.
You're insulting to lots of people. Including your post in this thread that Mod7 had to edit. Check the evidence:

You can't be rude to others and then act surprised when you get treated rudely in return.
So anyways, putting this thread back on topic...
Siren's is a terrible zone for trollers, because trollers rely on epic pool attacks to do any kind of real damage. In RV, they can be fun and effective for casual zone play, but they will never have the kind of damage that a damage oriented AT will have. If you are smart with your holds and debuffs, they can be pretty dangerous and effective, particularly in zone ganks and stuff.
I ran with a fire/rad troller in RV for a little while, I had fun with it and thought it was actually pretty decent for zone. Make sure you take powerboost, because powerboosted troller holds are nasty. I don't think plant/anything is a great option, Plant is not a particularly good PvP set. I would recommend some type of poison or rad.

My **** is bleeding.
Hi all,
Thinking about jumping in and having a crack at some PvP. Haven't done so since Siren's Call wayyyyy back when it first came out and had a blast. I realise things have changed and I've had a good look at some of the main mechanical differences.
What I'd like to know is whether or not a controller can work as a pvp toon (fairly casual, zone pvp primarily). My favourite is plant/ - can that work? More specifically, can a plant/time work? If not, are there other pvp controllers that might work better?
Cheers!
