Powers Question
I have a NRG Blaster which I recolored to make "light based" powers. I can't say much about Gravity; what would make it "magnetic"?
In general, more options for customization are always good. I think the devs need specific ideas though to help them out.
For example, I have a Kin/Sonic Defender. I redid the /Sonic attacks to look more like "magic" but the "growl" sound effect is really wrong for the character. I'd like to see some different sound effects available for some of the power sets. For /Sonic, how about music and siren?
The music one should have a couple of options. One is just really basic. A quick series of chords, like someone strumming a harp. This would work well with my magician. Think "Ta-da!" and you have the general idea. The other music option should be a bit more complex. It should actually sound like horns, or piano or instruments being played. The idea here is an actual "musical" concept character.
For "siren," think Ulysses, keening, banshees and opera singers. A powerful vocal sound, but higher pitch and less "growly" than what is currently there.
I think adding some sound effects to customization would be a big hit with players. For the OP: please try to describe in more detail what you are hoping for, I do think being specific here helps.
I was thinking this also. Why not just re-skin some existing power sets? It would improve customizing while not being as big of a time suck as a completely new power set. An all fire sword fire melee or an swordless ice melee, sonic/fire/ice/energy blast with beam rifle animations, energy blast with eye blasts, crossbow archery/trick arrow, A firebreathing fire blast set, and so on and so on.
While the animation dept would hate this, the numbers, powers, balance and everything else is already done. I would even dare say I would purchase some of these....
This can be (and a few times has been) done, and it works nicely. I seem to recall some red name saying it's basically as much work as making a new set, though, which seems odd but I guess the Standard Code Rant applies.
It's strange that it would take as much time since all, and I say that not knowing what the all implies, they need to do is create the animations. The recharge, activation and all that remains the same. Curious.
I'd guess that the actual powers' numbers (recharge, activation, etc.) don't take that much time, and most of the work is really in the animations and graphics.

It gives me a headache.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

They could probably change recharge and damage/effect numbers every other week if they felt like it, or had a reason to.
Creating new animations from scratch is quite a bit more time consuming. It's exceptionally rare, and only recently done much at all, for the devs to make new animations for existing powersets. Precisely because it is so time consuming that it usually makes more sense to just use that time to make a new set.

Is customization the way to go for some of the existing powers instead of creating new powers?
What I mean by this is let's take the NRG Blaster set. Could you not make it customizable so that within NRG you could take Optic Blasts, Cosmic Blasts, or Light based powers? Take controllers for example, have an option for Gravity to select Magnetic powers. Now, I don't think this would work because it would still require work to add these, but the basics for the powers are there and really what would be required is new animations. Which is a lot of work I know, but is this an option. And by customization I don't mean tinting the colours to get the effects you want and RP'ing them. I have a great imagination, why else would I play this game, however, if I want Optic blasts, I want em, lol.
