Bs/sr
Well with a scrapper you have potentially more damage with criticals, with a brute you get a higher base % of hit points with I tend to like because with SR the few times you get hit, it will hurt since your damage resistance doesn't kick in until you start taking damage.
SR is a great set irregardless of the AT IMO. This is because it is fairly easy and cheap to softcap positional defense and it is also a lot less interactive than the resistance based sets; which is good for someone like me that constantly loses his mouse pointer or is easily distracted.
The drawback is that you have no heal so you have to supplement that through the Medicine pool, or stacked regeneration through set bonuses (or carry greens around)
I'm sorry I don't have a build handy I lost all my builds when I had to blow up my hard drive and start over.
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

I would advise against this particular combination, not because of any problem with one of the sets, but because the combination of the two has little synergy. With /SR you have no use for Parry which is the principle benefit of Broadsword.
If you want to try Broadsword, you may get more from a BS/Shield, /Regen, /Electric, /Dark, /Fire or possibly a /Willpower. All of those can leverage Parry for better protection. Electric Dark and Fire (and arguably Shield) all help to make up for the generally low DPS of Broadsword.
If you would rather try /SR then I would advise a Dark Melee/SR or Kinetic Melee/SR. Dark adds -ToHit to stack with your defense and comes with a heal that is much better than the medicine pool. Kinetic Melee adds -Damage on your opponents which helps make up for the fact that /SR has little resistance to damage that actually does hit them.
None of that is meant to say BS/SR is not a viable combination. It's just not optimal. If you are set on this combination I could try my hand at a build for you, complete with theoretical advice on playing the character (I have a lot of sword experience, very little SR experience).

Well with BS/SR you can skip Parry and get better DPS out of Broadsword than other sets that depend on Parry can get. That's one good thing about the combo.

I've tried both battle axe/SR and broadsword/SR on brute. I've deleted both.

I was thinking of trying the new Broadsword on brute. I decided to make him a BS/SR for the fact I have never really played either set before. I know that Broadsword is kinda slow but when it hits it hits HARD. I know nothing about SR all i know is it has something to do with numbers.
So should I stay a brute or remake him a scrapper. Also some help with SR would be awesome.
Thanks Guys
