Thoughts on 'DFB'
You know what DfB is?
It's Superadine.

Cosplay Madness!: (#3643) Neutral vs Custom Foes. Heroes at a pop culture convention!
Kiss Hello Goodbye: (#156389) Heroic vs Custom Foes. Film Noir/Hardboiled detective adventure!
I run some characters through it all the way to 26 for the SO drops. Low level SOs can make a huge difference in the Posi TFs or other random low level missions.

How does it create that perception?? When you go to the LFG tab you can clearly see there are many more trials/raids available to you when you get to a higher level. When you look at your map you can see there are many more zones so logic would tell you that if this zone has a zone specific trial perhaps the others do as well.
Creating the perception that the entire game consists of one raid is a pure DfB problem, and one that also needs addressed.

This is just the flavor for the month to complain about much like AE was.

You'd have to ask the newbs (not meant as an epithet) that question. I just see the results in-game: lots of level 25-35 players asking where 'the next raid' or 'the next trial' is.
Whereupon they are told by various people that there are no more until level 50, and that you have to be VIP for those.
The reply to that is usually silence.

I have no problem with VIPs or longtime Preems using it to get over a content desert or to pass levels where they have already done and seen it all.

You know, I find that's true, too. I'm not sure why, but I presume it's because DfB will run with 4-8 players, instead of 12-16.
DfB just moves getting these questions answered to level 25 or so, rather than level 3.
Creating the perception that the entire game consists of one raid is a pure DfB problem, and one that also needs addressed.
I have personally taken the time to teach the above to multiple DfBabies. Then when I take them through a few regular and paper/radio missions, and explain that only regular missions give Merits...I find myself out of compelling reasons they should go out and enjoy the rest of the game. About 2 out of 3 thank me, then go back to DfB because it's less trouble for faster xp.
I respect that.
Still, however you look at it, that's a problem. It will hurt the money, which will hurt MY aspects of the game.
Sure, I'd love for people to get into the Lore of the game, and roleplaying, and socializing, and foruming, and all that. But many people aren't into those and that's cool.
But the Freems need some reason to want to VIP, or at least Preem, in support of this game. DfB doesn't do that (unless you think 'you should VIP so you can do any other raid' is compelling), and in fact interferes with it a bit.
They need to find out that there is tons of stuff to do that is also fun, even if it isn't as quick or easy as DfB. Stuff that makes them want to stay.
