Dark / Fire or Fire / Dark?

In the case of Fire Blast, I'd always go with Corruptor. It's not like Sonic Attack where you have the benefit of better -resist on a defender. Fire Blast's secondary effect is just more damage, so the defender gets nothing out of it.

I heard that Defender's Rain of Fire is a watered down version. It's based on "pet" damage and only Corr's version can scourge. I believe even Blaster's Rain of Fire does the same damage as Corr's?
I have to say Fire/Dark is better than Dark/Fire. Defender version will have better tohit debuffs and a bit longer fear/hold duration but Tar Patch is a pet so both Corr and Defender debuff resistance the same.
I think Dark support is another support set like Kinetic that just works a bit better on Corruptor who has Scourge and higher damage cap.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Fire/Dark. As others have said, Corruptor is the way to go with Fire. Rain of Fire does Blaster level damage and does double Scourge damage.
Defenders getting their support powers earlier doesn't matter for this combo, since the Corruptor still gets all their key DM powers by level 4.

I was talking to Cel about this last night, because I was having my quarterly buyer's remorse about my Dark/Dark and thought briefly about a Dark/Fire defender because I already have a Fire/Dark corruptor. Not going to reroll, though. Plus I have my Dark/Dark controller to level up.

Fire/Dark Corruptor all the way.
For a Dark/ Defender I can recommend Ice Blast. I have a range-capped Dark/Ice/Dark which does very decent damage on top of all the slows, great on teams. And probably ridiculous once the end crash on Blizzard is removed in i24.

All rain powers are being reduced in damage with i24 and changed to AT scalar, so defenders will be getting the nasty end of the stick

Which would be more effective for blue side teaming - a Dark / Fire Defender, or Fire / Dark Corruptor?
Mostly, I'm wondering if the higher debuff values the Defender provides would outweigh Scourge...
