Regen
so far my street justice/regen brute is up to almost lvl 34, and with insp i can tank good, i just dont plan on my regen brute to be more of a tank but to be more scrapperish (im gonna be skipping taunt and such)
personally i prefer a brute over a scrapper or a tank since a brute could fill one, the other, or both roles instead of being very limited

Guess I should have posted a farming build instead if I wanted feedback.
Or you can take the silence AS feedback.
Regen is trash for tanking.
With no defense debuff resistance any defense you muster will be stripped away. Like /dark or /fire your main form of staying alive is healing. Unlike /dark or /fire that is your only trick. No wall of fire that kills everything before they can kill you. No mez toggles to reduce incoming damage. No resistances to speak of.
With dull pain and instant healing running you can expect an obscene level of regeneration. Many late game factions have no problems at all either shutting it down (longbow, malta, carnies, arachnos) or just killing you through it.
My experience is with a fully tricked out IO'd and incarnated scrapper, and a brute will be tougher, but I can't see it being that MUCH tougher (FOR TANKING) - outside of when MOment of Glory is being awesome.
Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

I'm also interested in the leveling up process. I haven't leveled up a brute in awhile the 'ole fashioned way' and was looking for some insight. Lastly, I was also trying to start a discussion that didn't revolve around farming, /FA or CEBR.

In terms of tanking as was pointed out by someone that with all the debuffs in the game any defese u can gather will be stripped away, however, i recently made abuild on brute regarding the defences and such and can be found on the forum of brutes, in terms of tanking, simple answer is hell no, in terms of replacing a scrapper, hell yes, i chose kinetic melee and the damage so far is just pure fun, i will be taking the soul mastery set for the darkest night power, and then and only then can you reall tank out a bit, its true from my experience that regen is vastly a fun set it teaches u to watch your green bar and aslong as you have some nifty io's and a few bonuses to boot i think regen can be a pretty solid set once you learn to play its own role, and to be completely fair, im enjoying rolling a regen brute, at first i was like nah, cant be that good, but with the fury bar building and power siphon and all those enemies, its sure as hell is fun, im not looking to make a godlike character, the godlike player instinct shines through, and by distinct player preference can only then will you findyour true set, all in all a nice set for brutes, like i said, dip in to combat jump and weave and maybe maneauvers and you got yourself a lovely fighter.
i hope this helps somewhat
My two cents. I too have started a STJ/Regen brute. I have been soloing (+2, 1) mostly so far (wanted to get threw the First Ward arc and actually read it) and I have my standard arcs I like to hit....Striga & Croatoa. I thought the resistance ring in the Striga arc would be nice while leveling for EBs if needed. Its very nice.
So far I am only lvl 30 but when I do team I have been handling the tanking role decently....usually with the help of the support toons. Of course it's low level stuff with fewer debuffs (the to hit debuff is murderous for rage & damage).
The good news I think it that it handles well and regen is a late bloomer with is emergency powers.
My feeling is that it will do well in the scrapper role even while stealing aggro with the added taunt aura.
Hoping in the middle of a large high end group is gonna be treacherous unless you have Moment of Glory on to take Alpha.
With that in mind, I'll be focusing on +HP, +Rech and +DEF for the IO build.
I'm excited to see what will happen.
Now that this set has been out for a little bit, I wanted to get some feedback on the overall effectiveness for the Brute AT.
The Brute AT has been known to pick up the tanker role when there is no tank present or when another is needed to control aggro (along with being a damage dealer if neither of those roles are required). This is especially important in the late end game on certain TFs/SFs and of course the Incarnate Trials.
With that in mind, I have the following questions (please tell me your primary too):
1. During leveling, how did the set perform compared to other sets you have played? Skip this if you PLed the brute for late game.
2. During late game, non-Set IO build, how did your x/Regen Brute fair in TFs/SFs/iTrials as the main tank? As an additional tank/damage dealer?
3. With a Set IO build (heavy), how does your x/Regen Brute fair in the late game as the main tank? As an additional tank/damage dealer?
You don't have to answer the questions specifically and they are more for standardization. I'm just looking for insight into Regen and whether or not I want to create yet another Brute. I have so many (along with so many current builds in process) that I'm trying to prioritize my ingame time.
Thanks!
