Secondaries for Fenders and Blasters a fairly pointless choice

I have played 2 blasters (fire/elec & Psy/MM) to 50 and I have to agree with everyone who has said you're doing it wrong. I don't need to go into how awesome /elec is because others have done so quite well. I can't say enough good things about MM either. I have used every power in the set on my trip to 50 and use the Tier 9 PBAoE more than the Nuke from my primary because there's no crash. Telekinetic Thrust is great for mobs who get too close and Drain Psyche almost makes the set worth taking by itself. Personally I can't wait to make a /dark blaster because that secondary is practically DM which will make one hell of a blapper.

As far as Defender secondaries go, I think you should try a kin/elec. Mobs will have no end after the first few powers go off. Mobs who have no end can't attack. If the mobs don't attack because they have no end there is no need to heal. If you don't need to heal then you can spend the majority of the time buff/debuffing and blasting. Once you've got FS the fun really begins.

Another combination that I have seen played to devastating effect is my wife's storm/ice. Mobs don't last long when they're trapped under 3 rains and are 3x slowed, and that's just one of her many and varied attack chains.

MM is great too. But it's only 'great' instead of 'just another blaster secondary' (which to me are all except EM you already said) because of Drain Psyche - So -regen, -recov to AVs and everybody, you can get 'instant healing' with capped recovery and use thinks like hail of bullets/PSW without worrying like my ice/psy dom did with DP+melee stuffs like PSW and arctic air.

Dunno if this'll mean much but I'm running a storm/sonic defender and I"m definitely seeing the -Res in effect, there is a difference between hitting a critter with an attack initially and then hitting it once I've started chaining

Is there something I am not recognizing or doing wrong?
At what level? At really low levels the numbers might be too small to compare.

I just hit 1 baddie with shout for 47 damage, then shriek, then shout again for 58 damage. At my level 23 defender values (not even slotted for damage yet), that is noticeable. With a level 50 blaster on my team it would be ridiculous. Then considering eventually having a good attack chain will keep the -res even higher... well, /sonic is pretty intense.

I could definitely notice it on my sonic blast defender since he got his first 2 blasts (level 4 I think) - shriek - scream - shriek, you'll see the second shriek will do more damage, the target wil have a 40% res debuff since shriek's -res lasts for 5 secs and the attack recharges in 3.

Sonic blast is the only defender secondary I can stand to play past level 10. I have two at 50. One is purpled out. I'd say secondary can make a difference.
