...the true benefit of playing DP/ on a Corruptor is /Traps. You can softcap defense, giving you all the survivability you need to get right in to the spawns and open up with your guns, you have actual Status Protection (from FF Generator) to most stuff barring KB which you can slot for and a number of very nice debuffs and buffs including a regen aura and holds. Give it a spin and see how you like it.
Dual Pistols is fairly low damage (on average) set, so you won't get that "OMG" feeling that you do from something like Fire. The crashless nuke is nice but you can't use it every spawn so at least half the time (more like 2/3 or more without a high recharge build) you only have the normal attacks. Those attacks are pretty much middle of the road at best using incendiary ammo and below average using anything else so on spawns where you can't use Hail of Bullets you'll lag behind good AoE sets while not getting the high ST damage or great secondary effect that sets like Ice do to make up for it.
On the other hand, you will look cool and on spawns where HoB is up you'll be deadly... the only question is whether you prefer that to something that does almost as much damage every spawn as DP does with HoB up, but does so with a lot less style.

I started playing there in i13 actually, I like redside there a lot. But I haven't joined the main channel (Virtue LFG Beta) till like 3 months ago, I used the server mainly when the Repeat Offenders announced some team there (that's why despite having a lot of toons on Virt I only have one 40 and one 50 unlike Freedumb where I have lots) or some random pugs for tfs. I was gonna make it my main server when I was forced to stop playing - ultra mode devs stealth nerfed my GPU, made it run only at bare minimum settings - like safe mode, while in i16 it ran the game quite well besides not being able to ultra)
But since I returned (3 months when I got a new rig but only resumed playing almost every day 1 month ago) I've been a bit more active there, I'm only part of Virtue LFG Beta tho. Global me! And pl plz k thx

Ahh I need to join LFG Beta but I'm only in VirtueTF2010 and I think VirtueTrials2011(not sure on exact name). I've got several new guys I want to make and several on both sides so we can run together sometime. I'll global you when I get home from work.

I got my DP/Dark corr to 14 (she's blueside, too few heroes on Virtue) and I'm liking even the cone now! I don't know if I'm just not meant to play blasters, I rerolled a BM/EM into BM/Poison (and then BM/Traps but because of Poison's redraw) and loved the corr.
And I feel damaging on my DP/Dark, maybe it's more of a feeling, all I know is I'm loving her so I can finally play DP 
Since I also got my Dark Blast/MM to 20 at least ONE blaster looks promising to me, I love the utility (tentacles), the three cone chain (TT, Torrent, P. Scream) and Drain Psyche which is useful even for AVs, plus Life drain is awesome and the hold does good damage. Guess outside of Brutes (because their damage and survivability are just crazy) and Stalkers (more strategic playstyle, plus squishyness) I just don't like damage-only toons, the only scrapper I ever got to 50 is a dm/da but she's kind of a melee controller.
