Spent Paragon Points

Last week I signed up for city of heroes again after a period of inactivity. I played for a bit, but not much. While I was on during this time I looked at the Paragon Market and saw that I had the normal 400 paragon points that my month long subscription gives me. However, today, when I looked at the market, 260 of my points had been spent, and I have no idea on what. I wanted to know if there is a way to see what your paragon points have been spent on so I can at least know what I got out of them. Thank your for taking you time to read this and for any help you can offer.

To get a list of your unlocks you can use the /mypurchases command.

Warning: it will spam your system message channel.

The easiest way to see it outside of the game is to:

  • enable chat logging
  • use the /mypurchases command
  • close the game
  • Find the chat log. It should be in the \City of Heroes\logs\game logs\ directory.
  • change the log file extension to .htm
  • open the log file in a browser

NOTE: I am not trying to suggest Snow Globe likes this method (unless his/her opinion changed, s/he does not).

This is clumsy at best.
I tried it, for yucks. Primarily so that I could know what the output was like when talking to others about it.

First it is quasi-character based. Meaning there will (likely) be slight variations between the characters you use it on. (It lists Account Item rewards, and if you have claimed it yet.)

Also, perhaps worse, it the repeat of item names with different codes. I am not sure if this is a bug, or if they actually represent different items.

Example:

That is 15 of the 443 items listed by /mypurchases. (Do note, that it is at least 2 different items. The Auras Pack, and the Capes pack - both of which were gained through the Origins Booster that no longer exists.)

So, there really needs to be a better way... But /mypurchases is the only way we have at the moment.

I don't like the method. It is a pain in the **** substitute for something that should have been tracked in the market/account since launch. Going further back, the people that designed the previous account pages to list all the boosters as "perk" should have been replaced with competent staff and not have been allowed to make the new store.

Oh, and "he" and "his".

Agreed, but it is only slightly better than nothing.

Yes, these are a problem.

Thanks for the help, it worked just fine! (although it did provide a long list to wade through like you said)

If you have access to a spreadsheet program (like excel) you can export that html data into a spreadsheet and sort the data.

You'll need to make a new text document and copy and paste the html document into the new document. The easiest way is to have the html file displayed in your browser and just hit crtl+A and then crtl+C. Then you can just crtl+C into the blank document.

When you save the new document save it as a .csv file. This makes a simple tab delimited file. Open up excel, create a new workbook, find the data menu from there import external data option, select import data. This will bring up menu for you to select the .csv file you've made. The import wizard wants to ask you a bunch of questions but you can just hit the finish button. You should now have a spreadsheet of your purchases.

Each of those lines is a single item in the pack. Most of the codes follow the same format: "cucp", two letters for which pack it comes from ("op" for "Origin Pack" in this case), and two letters for what item within the pack it is. I've seen a few things that deviate slightly (The "Protest Loyalist" emote normally unlocked with GR is cucplpro, for example; no pack identifier, so it's a 4-letter item identifier instead of 2).

I haven't bothered trying to figure out what the cucp represents, as far as I'm concerned it's a meaningless prefix.

Well, off the cuff I would say "Customer Unlocked Costume Part..."

But that is without any effort and that is all the effort I am going to put into it. ;-)
