64.25.36.88 is correct for the auth entry. But, his game client is not getting to the point where it matters yet.

So something is going on.
In an interesting turn of events, I had the game lock on me going from Cap au Diable to Rikti Warzone 2 tonight.
When I opened Task Manager to kill the process to log back in, I had two instances of CoH running. 1 was the Cap instance that wasn't responding (expected), 2 was a generic version of City of Heroes that was listed as "Running." Since the second one was unexpected, I tried "End Task" on it, and it killed both instances.
64 bit Windows 7 here.

OK. Since I show a different entry in the registry, I wasn't sure if that one was correct.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yep, tried right now, no luck. Thanks anyway.

There is anything in Safe Mode different from "normal" beyond tunned down GFX? I can enter in Safe Mode, save the GFX settings as they were set by Safe Mode, exit game, try to enter "normally" (Safe Mode not ticked) then I get stuck in the loading bar again. So what is stopping me to enter is nothing related with "quality GFX", as trying to launch game with minimum settings (our of Safe Mode) fails.

Submitted a support ticket, they asked me to run GameAdvisor and now it has been escalated.

Thanks for all your feedback!

@Arda

EDIT: I forgot to mention that if I close the stuck game loading bar (right click on CoH icon in Windows bar, "Close window"), the processs cityofheroes.exe*32 is still running in Task manager (using 126 MB RAM and 50% CPU, so one CPU) that I have to kill manually.

That would be something Tex would have to answer, or possibly ask someone else about and then give you an answer.

It's not a level of knowledge that Texas Justice has.

Sorry, hope they can resolve it soon.

The only thing that stands out to me between Safe Mode and Minimum Graphics Quality is that Geometry Buffers are disabled with Safe Mode.

So, you might try enabling the Advanced Graphics options and disabling Geometry Buffers.

The auth entry in the registry is no longer used and not kept up-to-date.

Dear all,

I am glad to say that the assistance of Tech support fixed it (thanks GM Emily!). They sent me this, at least to me, quite obscure tip:

I would like to have the graphic shader files rebuilt on your system. To do so, please delete the "CoX" folder located, by default, at "C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\NCSoft" and try launching City of Heroes again. If you are unable to see this folder, you may have "Show hidden files and folders" disabled.

And this did the trick! Thanks all of you, specially Morgan_Reed, Texas_Justice and Tex for your sugestions, very kind of you!

Now I can enjoy I21 properly!

Best

@Arda
