In all fairness, losing 8-0 on an MM inclusive lineup intended to be a direct counter to our lineup is a complete trainwreck.

I'm honestly happy you guys ran something like that though, because no one would do that in a practice against us (for obvious reasons), so it was good to actually get some experience against disruption on the dom lineup - even if it was on the fly.

Meh, slice it however you like Silit. As we already stated it wasn't practiced and the intended lineup didn't make it into the match. We had fun and definitely saw what worked and what needed to be changed.

It wasn't played to draw or simply to lower the kills. That would be lame. It was made to reduce your ability to get easy rolling kills while allowing for stray pull spike targets for us.

If it was a draw or 'just don't get destroyed too bad' team I would have veto'd it. I don't play that way. I'd rather get demolished and have tried my best. There should be no implied 'defeat' on your team from mine and I promise any comment made is not or should not be meant that way. Attitudes aside, your team is amazingly good and fun to both watch and play against. Any pride in the matches should be read as excitement that the initial idea, while it didn't work like we wanted, had merit.
This is all I needed to hear.

I was genuinely hoping that your team did not share the opinion that barrier and battlewraith have. I really do like the majority of your team and I shouldn't let two bad apples spoil the bunch. So GGs Fap. I hope the non handicapped members of your team can see what those line ups and the actions inside of the matches and the lol gloating looked like from our perspective.

QFT, it's a shame that the most dumb players on your team are also the most vocal. No offense.

I enjoyed seeing something other than a straight jump lineup to go against last night. However, the way it was played made me (and I'm sure others) think it was just there to stall and keep kills down, rather than actually try to win. The comments about WARE putting up less kills against FAP than any other team sort of cemented that idea for us, that, that was the only goal of bringing it. (That and the stalker being out of hide for probably 8 minutes of the match and landing one AS on me then no longer really trying after that.)

The biggest thing that got me was, if you were going to try and turtle? Why not use one of the rooms that tech lab offers. There are at least 2 or 3 spots in the room with the small set of stairs, and as far as Atlas went? If you guys would have taken the globe we'd have had a match on our hands, at least having to really work for that first kill.

At any rate, I tend to believe what Smoke said about the intentions of last night, so on that note good matches, they were fun to see something different even if they weren't executed all that well. (Honestly not intended as a slight, I'm from dUmb, we tossed stuff together all the time for match night and saw how it worked. Poorly usually.)

It's a work in progress. I thought it went surprisingly well for our first try at it. I am sorry if the matches were boring. We were giggling like idiots and I was actually excited/nervous for the first time in forever on an emp. Hopefully it'll be more fun to fight when we get a bit better at it.

And I appreciate the various votes of confidence. I may be a carebear, but I'm an honest one and I'm glad my word is trusted.

Well while we were underprepared, I think we overthought things as well. We thought hiding in a room would've been expected and so we tried to take the group forward. Also going on the globe was a good idea but we really didn't think of Atlas at all when considering that lineup. We were debuffing and tping people constantly, it was just too disorderly to garner kills.

To be frank though, there's a lot of rage that we even had the audacity to bring that lineup. I think it brings back painful memories from previous leagues. Silit's initial writeup alluded to it:

All in all, it was certainly a successful night, because I think we proved to ourselves that Earth/Fires are indeed still viable against a disruption team in close quarters, and that we are more than capable of holding it together against "stalling" lineups... even while running scrappers.
My only hope is that this doesn't end up like the first Freedom League did - where at a certain point in the league, every team save for PoWT tried to run stalling/taunter based/gimmick lineups against us.
We welcome anyone to run anything against us, I guess, and we welcome people to keep hiding their lineups from us - because they'll do anything to beat us, unless it means actually outplaying us.
That sounded pretty defensive over a win. I guess it was too revealing because it was taken down and replaced with a short slur against me personally and the team, which is accused of not making a legitimate effort. Silit I haven't seen you that pissed off since I said the big gold ****** from 300 was an accurate depiction of ancient Persians. Grow up kids, damn. You won. We brought a few mms. We didn't slap your momma (though I could see less QQ over that tbh).

The reason to stay in the middle was to try and control it, as smoke said we wanted to win. It's unfortunate our two best stalkers weren't able to make it I think that match would have went differently if they had.

The second map we had hoped you would bring the dom's and the tanks could get the dom's off target and lessen the spikes and make you guys vulnerable while removing pressure from our offense. I would still like to see how a double taunt line up fairs against your dom line up. The fact you need everyone on target and in range make me curious to see how that kind of off target disruption would do.

We basically gambled on an inside map for the third match hoping that replacing the stalker and tank with 2 blasters would get us the kills we didn't get on the lab map.

You think we didn't play to win but had we brought jump v jump or jump v dom that would have been us not playing to win. This was a chance and we took it. We didn't win but we also didn't loose 40-0 as we have in our first practice with ware so we where happy about that.

More importantly to me, I made this team to have fun and last night we genuinely looked forward to the matches and had a blast. For me (not speaking for my team) that was a win.

Actually, the original commentary was the one I wrote when I noticed Vinnie hadn't done it yet. Once Vinnie got around to it, he just edited the original post into what's there now.

It really did seem like you guys weren't trying to win, because there was literally NO offensive pressure on us AT ALL. It got to the point where Klesk got bored of emping and started spiking with us.

Surely, I'm beating the dead horse with this, but, even in matches where we've won 40-0, Klesk and Spiner were Emping their dicks off the whole time. That, combined with the general lack of offensive pressure on us, the turtling in the middle of the map, not healing Kali's tank for like 30 seconds straight as we spiked him, followed by apparent excitement at the results - as lib put it - "cemented" that idea for us.

But, as I said at the end of the commentary, GGs.

Silit wasn't angry from what I gathered, more just annoyed that we don't get to have as much fun in matches anymore, because we win by too much.

Stop making baseless assumptions, it really reflects poorly on your team. Obviously you don't care if you look like a flaming idiot, but at this point it's negatively reflecting on your team.

To the rest of FAP, you guys would take a lot less **** if you managed to keep BattleWraith from posting such dumb nonsense all the time.

As a side note to whoever is making the lineups for FAP, if you're trying to minimize the kills as much as possible, grav/ta's and grav/ff's will do a hell of a lot more than taunters, and it sometimes even works

True story: The other day I got invited to a team in Rv. Then someone else got lead and kicked me---which happened to be you. There were a bunch of people on Mumble so I asked who you were. The answer I got was "some fat guy with red hair." Now I have no idea whether that's true. It really wouldn't matter to me if it was. But what was noteworthy about it was that nobody had anything to add to the description in either a positive or negative way. That was it.

I'm not concerned with how I reflect to strangers over the internet. Thanks for your concern but I don't think you should be worrying about it either, it's not a particularly healthy fixation.

Silit--
Of course, Vinnie. That was definitely more his speed. Thank god i'm not Asian.

You've known me a while and I meant what I said. In all honesty I had a tiny little fire of hope we might win.. yes, actually win the first match. The offensive pressure was supposed to come against those tp'd in to the mess. It just didn't happen and the MM's were too busy trying not to do something stupid and figure out what they hell they 'were' doing to do much of anything.

I regret not running to Kali's spawn and healing him, then phasing if needs be and running back to the group. I should have. I was worried I'd die once I broke off and I'd be trading one death for another which makes little sense. In retrospect, I should have taken the chance and counted on Johnny to keep me upright on the way back.

I would prefer if my team could chill out and stop participating in pointless back and forth ******** as it does no good and reflects poorly on the team. I'm not all carebear though.. I think it's pretty stupid and childish to dump the original write up and put up what's there now. If my saying we brought a legitimate team with the intention to win isn't good enough for Vinnie, he can go **** himself. I'm really kind of hoping that was changed before yesterday afternoon.

Despite your intent, vinnie only spends as much time on write ups as our emps spend healing in the matches.

Short is ok. Even mean if that's what he's going for. But true would be nice. I look forward to his write ups as I usually find them very funny.

Some of them are pretty funny, especially the old u2bg ones. Overall I think they are enjoyable as long as you don't take them super serious. The dilz chart was also funny.

I liked the farm list too but silit stoped updating it

I was disapointed with the removal of our write up but in no way am I disapointed with the matches or our performance in them. I only wish we had a chance to practice on the mm's, myself especially since I've never really played one, we can do that now though. If that's how WARE feels then that's how they feel it's their perogitive. The multiple posts by both sides will have no influence on what we run in the future.
