can you post the mids data set? It will get you more help. Anyway what is your goal for the build? The six slotted with luck of the gambler is a wast of slots, you can take 3 out of anything you have slotted with 6, (put 2 in weave so you get 3 for the hp bonus). I would swap the purples in the snipe to put in blaze and then use the manticores set in the snipe for more recharge. Are you slotting RoA to have it up more often? If not move those purples to Fire ball as it's up more often. That's all I could see from skimming and not knowing what the set bonuses add up to.

Edit: Data link worked for me

Not knowing what you're looking for I made some slotting changes, swapped force for cold mastery to cap s/l defense, you have more recharge, similar damage, and capped s/l defense.

Wow, all the little things I have learned from this! I won't even go over them lol. 3 LOTG? I never thought of that >.
Well you kinda built exactly what i was looking for: Good cap def, perma hasten, good health, and good acc/dam. I think the only thing that bugs me is the 28purples >.
Just random but can I forgo some of the purples for reds maybe? I know the purples are the best though and I dont want to downgrade to much just because of "money."

Thank You a ton for all the tips on the build. I have learned a ton just looking at what you built. I always thought I had to have at least 5 sloted to make a IO worth while -- not true at all.

Do you have the billions to make this build ?
I'm thinking about 5 to 6 billion by looking at some of those IOs ?

Nonetheless your best bet would be range cap hover blaster. Range when available beats S/L cap. Yes S/L is a common component of many attacks, but Since Range is Positional it works against all damage types and not just S/L. I never had an issue especially with EM being out of range or killing mobs before too many reached me.

Further I believe you would still be able to slot some of those purple IOs even going range cap.

It's not the worst I've seen.

I concur on 6 slotting LotG being a waste of slots. 3 is plenty, maybe 4 if you want the accuracy bonus and can spare the slots.

A little confused as to why you'd slot the purple stun set in an attack. Especially one in which the chance to stun is so relatively low. If you really want to slot Absolute Amazement for the bonuses, pick up Stun instead so the thing the set enhances is actually the reason for taking the power. Slotting Energy Punch for stun is akin to slotting Charged Brawl for end drain: yes, it does do that, butyou'd be better off slotting it for damage. Personally, I'd drop Energy Punch from the build altogether and replace it with Flares.

I would also take Apocalypse (and it's very nice damage proc) and put it in an attack you will use more often, like Fire Blast or Blaze. (I'd slot it in Flares so you can spam it for more chances for the proc to go off). I mean, how often are you really going to use Blazing Bolt?

I concur with plainguy on ranged defense. The vast majority of mezzes that will be aimed at you are ranged, and those that aren't won't be a problem if you're out of range of them.

This is a common misconception. Just because something is expensive does not always mean it is the best choice for your build. If your goal is extremely high recharge, then they probably are the best choice. But if your goal is soft-capping defense on an AT not meant to have high defense, then they are probably actually the WORST choice, because they are extremely expensive and don't give you any kind of defense bonuses at all. Whether or not purples are actually the best depends entirely on what your build goals are. Personally, I never use them, simply because they are so expensive and almost never have set bonuses I'm interested in.

I do not have that money actually >. I have though bought around 1bil of this build already. Which sadly with all this info I am getting i apparently have bought some enhancements I do not want anymore due to better ones being shown to me.

I am not to worried about anything but s/l really. I tend to be a stupid blaster and I run and aggro the group to fast. So as they surround me i dont get many ranged hits on me. I dont know if that makes a dif or not on needing the ranged def.
As an overall though i am actually just looking for a good survival rate with amazing attack speed and damage. That would be my overall goal.

Billions aren't so easy to come by. Some players have played this game since the start and couldn't afford a purples & PVP build. If you're willing to put in the time marketeering and/or farming with the proper plans, then you might be able to reach those goals quickly enough, but that's not something everyone has the patience, knowledge or desire for. Levelling up from 1-50, you should come out with 50M, depending on drops along the way. That's a long way from 5B+.

Speaking to the build, some players look at Energy Manip as a blapper secondary, but it's the ultimate ranged secondary in my mind. Single-target melee is WAY overrated for Blasters. I'd stick with ranged defense and go the hover blaster route.

Why ranged defense? You can cut down on melee and PBAOE attacks just by moving, which limits your opponents to ranged attacks and targeted AOEs. The latter are very rare for most opponents, so you can cut down a lot of potential damage through movement alone, channeling remaining damage through ranged defense, which is easy to build for. A lot of heavy attacks also happen to be melee-ranged and few opponents can fly, so a hover blaster with softcapped ranged defense is in pretty good shape.

I've set up a build below, which is pretty inexpensive outside of the Gladiator's Armor 3%. You can get it by running 5 tips per day and cashing in reward merits for alignment merits. If you stick to that plan feverishly and run whatever TFs you can, the Glad Armor can be yours in a couple weeks or so.

Actually, for some builds purples are not only not the best, they are actually downright bad. The key to an effective build is to first plan out exactly what you want from it. Do you want high recharge to spam your most powerful attacks often? High defense and extra HP and regen to boost survivability? Lots of damage procs because you usually play with (or are) a Kin and are normally damage capped? What sets are "best" depends on what you want to accomplish... in the case of purples, they have higher than normal enhancement values and awesome recharge bonuses (plus some other things) that work at any level when exemping. That's great if you want a high recharge character, but if you are looking for ranged defense then a cheap Thunderstrike set is going to be a lot better for you than an Apocalypse set. About the only purple set that you can reasonably claim is always the best option is Ragnarok, simply because it's a beefed up version of Positron's Blast and that's the only other targeted AoE set that's worth looking at. (Seriously, can we please get a couple more targeted AoE sets like we did PBAoEs?)

Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)

Ok so I have taken some of the advice given from these comments and have comeup with this build. Granted this is not "my" build it is B_Nix, plainguy, and ClawsandEffects all combined in a way. What do you all think now? Should this be sufficient to keep me alive while getting me some good damage and recharge?

Actually, If it is possible I would like a good mix of these two. A little more to the spamming damage side, but not so much that I have no defense. Is this going to be an impossible combination? Do I have to pick one or the other to be useful?

Thank you streetlight for this build. I took a look at it and actually took some ideas from it, but this is definitly not the build I am looking for. I have three set and I compared this one to all them and didnt really like it comparitively for the blaster I have at this moment.

Going with a ranged defense build on a Blaster seems very cost effective, actually. I found some awesome advice in the Ar/Dev thread that had me come up with a build I love. My nerfed like AR/Dev is now able to solo 8 person spawns, when before she had trouble with single spawns. The build she uses only cost me about three hundred million, give or take. The only expensive ones were Numina's, and a LotG +Recharge.

One tip though, craft EVERYTHING. There's no reason to buy the enhancements premade if you're on a budget. 99% of the time you'll get the recipes + mats for a buttload cheaper.

Okay looked at the new build..

I get the whole 1k damage from inferno. Very nice.
But then what ? You wait 112 seconds to fire it off again ?

I'm sorry I probably just the wrong guy for some of this stuff. I don't get the deal about trying to have the biggest damage attack I can only fire off almost every 2 minutes. Once you fired off that big attack you better hope nothing is alive because your defenses will drop down to half. Though stuff will probably be dead but still.

Overall I cannot see anything technically wrong. Meaning I don't see a heal proc in a limited power like aid self. I don't see things terribly over slotted like before.

Could you get away with maybe 900 dps on inferno, probably. But it's all good if this is your route.

Personally I think your just hooked on this purple is better notion. If I was going to spend billions on a build I would do it on something that can do anything and everything, like a capped brute, tank, scrapper. Instead of being limited. Again not knocking you, part of me is jealous that you can spend this type of game money on this type of build. Hope it serves you well.

I completely understand this, but I am not interested in the power itself rather what I can slot in it. Personally I hate inferno it destroys your endurance and def everytime. I just like my Armegeddon. And I do not have the time >. Like previously stated; Im still new to this IO stuff and Im trying to learn as much as possible so I can finally do this on my own >.
