Stealthiness

I've got a Dual Pistol/Devices Blaster I was just on. I've got the cloaking device and super speed with the stealth proc in it. What, if any, advantages am I gaining from the proc? Should I remove it?

I think it might provide you with enough stealth that enemies with perception bonuses, such as snipers and Rikti drones, can't see you.

If you have a pressing need for the slot for some other purpose, you can remove the Stealth proc, and between Super Speed and Cloaking Device, you'll be fine most of the time.

Note that you can stick the proc in Sprint if you want to keep it, but want to stick something else in Super Speed.

See Stealth and Perception on the wiki.

Cloaking device gives you 35' of stealth, Super Speed gives you 35' of stealth and Stealth IO gives you 30' of stealth for 100' total.

Any two of them will give you enough stealth to hide from (most) minions, lieuts and bosses. All three will allow you to hide from giant monsters. You can get closer to snipers, but can't completely hide from them.

Take note that some enemies, like the aforementioned Rikti drones, completely ignore stealth. You cannot get enough stealth to hide from them. But perception debuffs, like smoke grenade will affect them.

And not that most if not all of them (The eyeballs might have some) that ignore stealth also (by default) have normal perception.

Rikti Drones and Knives of Artemis do not agro farther out than normal mobs.

You can not have enough stealth to be stealthy to Rikti Drones/Knives/Rularuu Sentries. It will work for snipers, I believe.

Even if you do have Stealth granting powers, it is still a good idea to have the Unbounded Leap or Celerity Stealth anyway. Since it can go in Sprint or one of the Prestige sprints if you have them, you will have some stealth even exemped all the way down to level 1.

Snipers have 149' perception. The OP doesn't not have enough stealth to hide from them.

However, if you were to garner that much stealth, it would work for snipers, but still not for the "cheaters".

Cool. Thanks all! Prolly gonna keep it then if it's not really a wasted slot. I'm pretty sure I've only two slotted Super Speed with the proc and an endurance reducer since I pretty much run it all the time.

It's always been my understanding that two of them will put anyone but a stalker at the stealth cap; and even for a stalker it only makes a difference in PvP. So for a blaster having three sources of stealth won't do anything.

That is not quite correct. The PvE stealth cap is 200' for most except VEATs and Stalkers. As mentioned above, all three will give the OP 100' of stealth. See Limits page.

For PvP, the cloaking device and the stealth IO would put the OP at the stealth cap for anything but stalkers and VEATs (571.5 at level 50), but super speed does not give any stealth at all in PvP.
