★Howdy.
for people who recognise my posting name as my global, you may (or probably not at all) know me ingame. i get around a little bit on freedom, the incarnate trials and such, how i'm always on multiple accounts, manipulating the point of having very good combo accounts.
my question is with i21 coming, im interesting in adding a few people to my collection...
★my question is, would it be best for me to pay the 1.99$ for the CoH and its benefits, or Wait until i21's release, and individually buy ability to use Masterminds, and to enroll as an incarnate?
thanks if you answer. c:

Let's see, if you start now, you get COH for $1.99 and a month of playing time. You also start as a Premium player, instead of a Free player (And there is a real difference between the two.) and you get 400 PP per month of subscribing from now until I21 launches, with a minimum of 1 month. Sounds pretty good to me.

Frankly, I would get the current sale of the base game and keep my eye out on Steam to see if they have another $10.00 sale on the complete GR. If they do, that is another month of game time, 400 more points, 2 extra global slots and access to most of the GR stuff without having to buy points in the market for it.

ETA: Oh, and you can't buy Incarnate abilities. That is VIP only.

For your questions, waiting for i21 or not will not affect you either way.

What you are really asking is the difference between maintaining a subscription or not.

As Justice Blues stated, all Incarnate level stuff is VIP (subscription) only.
Unless your new account gets 13 Paragon Reward tokens, you will need to purchase the use of Masterminds if you aren't subscribing if you wait or buy CoH now.

And there is more that will change depending on if you are actively subscribing or not on a new account.

Basically, the $1.99 is a cheap way to get your first month for a brand new player.

Of course, it doesn't really get you anything that buying one of the older boxed sets (see second link in my signature) doesn't. It's just cheaper.

Check out some Big Lots and other stores you can get Coh and Cov for $6.99 or less.

ThePieMaskot, if you're planning to play as Premium, then I think the $1.99 account would be useful. It would give you two character slots on a Premium account (although its lowest level) with 400 PP. More character slots are always nice for Premium considering you don't get much. The 400PP won't get you anything in terms of AT's or powersets (unless you wait for a sale, in which case it might, but I won't count on it), but it could still be nice if you just want a couple of characters using the default AT's and powersets but with a couple of unique costume pieces, or add a little funds to buy something, so it's effectively a discount.

If you plan to stay subscribed (and you'll have to if you want incarnate stuff), then I think such an account will be less useful.

Personally I'm on the first case (plan to play Premium most of the time) and I'm running now on the $1.99 account. Would have bought a couple more if I could, but I think it was a fluke I managed to get this one (got a "try retailer" message before that and since then).

By the way, Robotech Master, nice guide. I discovered it just the other day, and I'm thinking I might take advantage of the PC Game Supply time card sometime. Would be good value for two months of VIP subscription.
