Need PVP Build for Ice/Mental Blaster

I have some hold and range IO's sets. Have gladiator's net, gravitational anchor, coercive persuasion, some ranged sets and lotg recharge %7.5, miracle:+regen, numina +regen +recovery. Anyone can post good build ?

Are you looking for a 1v1 build or a team build? An Ice/Mental probably won't translate that well to team PVP, but a 1v1 build might work. You'd have nice recovery and recharge debuffs, as well as slows, which would allow you to stay at range against melee opponents.

I'll use this toon at RV, i can do 1vs1 mainly need RV toon. Just need survive and can kill some players

In general people don't hand out builds. Post your own, and people will give you advice on it. Or at least they used to. These forums are pretty dead these days, so it may be hard to get advice.

Quick advice: You want to have a ton of KB protection, and as much +HP as you can get. And hibernate or phase shift is 100% mandatory, as are super speed and super jump.

This is why I pretty much quit PvPing. Because everything is cookie cutter builds nowadays.

The only reason it's really necessary is because all of your opponents have those things.

And I do mean ALL of your opponents. If you go into a zone with a toon built any other way, you're probably going to suck.

And even if the devs fix PvP that isn't going to change. There is always going to be one type of build that outperforms the rest, and I like to have some kind of choice in how I slot my characters instead of doing the exact same thing as everyone else.

But, aside from my rant, Supermax's quick advice is sound.

I can give some advice on the powers. You definitely want a fully slotted Scare. That's one of the only reasons to be /mental in PvP. You actually can probably skip bitter ice blast. It's crazy, I know, but even Subdual does more damage than BiB. You can just chain bolt, blast, and subdual.

You also want to take acrobatics, and you need a lot more kb protection. That's the main thing. Right now it looks like you have only 16 points or protection. You want it to be somewhere in the 40's....I don't remember the exact number anymore....maybe over 41 (including acro)?

Other than kb protection, like I mentioned earlier, +HP is the main thing you want. Add some +dmg where you can. All PvP is these days is damage spam vs bags of HP. So you want to be able to spam as much damage as you can, while having the biggest possible bag of HP. Literally nothing else in PvP matters anymore.

Sadly, from my limited experience as the worst empath in a quickly-dead ladder on test, this is all true. And yes it's incredibly stupid and nonsensical that the hardest hitting attack in PvE for Ice Blast (BIB) is garbage damage in PvP, but they made changes to "ease the barrier of entry" and so now you have to learn a whole new set of rules and what your powers do and more specifically, don't do.

And I think it's 42 points of KB protection to prevent a slotted Force Bolt from knocking you.

capped hp. 41 kb pro. some range boost (you can swap glad javs for Centriole's)

I know Drain Psyche is a beast recovery debuff. I dont know how affective Scare is.

One other thing is that with the changes in I13, ice blast's damage got the nerf bat sooooo you are not really going to be putting out the damage to, as you said in an earlier post, "kill some players". I would roll a psi,fire or sonic blaster and then go and try it out. I have a bad feeling that with an ice/mental blaster you are going to get really depressed once you spend the money on it and it doesn't perform.

And as supermax said you need to slot for +hp, kb protection over 41 with acrobatics running, like in the build Hinden posted (but also like Hinden said, I would never spend that much on an ice/mental blaster).

Subdual also have a retarded animation.
