tl;dr
New channel for Freedom PvP events "Freedom PvP 2011" have good support for it, growing numbers and already have started doing events. Ask @TheKatalyst or ask around in AC as there are other mods who are cool people who will invite you, or you can join through channel searching.

Sounds good. I'm just waiting till i21 to transfer my toons back over to Freedom, only have a Stalker over there atm.

I realize that was a pure troll comment, and I was definitely expecting them, but the notion that it's a waste of time is something that talking to other remaining PvPers has led me to think otherwise.

Pvp is dead..yet the channel has over 100 people? I guess they are all dead...or possibly the channel lead has 100 alt accounts and padding his own channel? You sad like the one that's butt hurt..did the devs nerf your poor perma dom or something?

Although the guy sounds like a tard, he has a point. Unless PvP gets revamped, at least to what it once was, it's doubtful the 8 v 8 ladders are going to happen again.
More power to you for trying though, it's still fun to PvP now and then, but IOs and incarnate stuff really made PvP lulzworthy. The fact that no Melees fight Ranged toons is hilarious in itself.

Kind of sad really.
I used to like when it was SOs only, and a good player could really switch to any ole build/toon and beat people who were less skilled. More emphasis has been put on 25billion influence builds now then skill. It's making it more difficult for someone who wants to jump in and pvp...pvp. So CoX has ruined the ability to allow half the player base to jump on over and give it a whirl.

I recently returned and decided to just see what if anything has changed. I have checked out zones and as of tonight done some pug kickball matches on vent. While incarnates have added some twists and psi runs rampant I had almost as much fun tonight playing kickball as I did in the past. I had to lvl a toon to 50 and dumped about 1.5 bill into a build (thats not alot these days). I have spent less than 1 day getting tier 3 incarnates and have no accolades except demonic aura. I had no problem in kickball last night as between the two matches I played I had 7 kills and 0 deaths and do ok in zones. If someone wants to jump in it isn't as hard as your making it out to be.

And not to mention..if pvp is dead, why are you even posting in a pvp related thread? Since again..if it was dead, no one would have posted, or indeed, there would be no post in the first place.
Looking in RV right now, during double xp and beta, there are 10 people, just red side. Is that a lot? No. Is it completely dead? Um..no it doesnt look like it.

Minus issue 4 for as long as I remember people were farming stuff for pvp. It started with Hami's and accolades and moved up to IO's, then incarnates. However maybe people only pvped in SO's on Guardian. I was on Liberty before Freedom got declared the unofficial pvp server and majority of the folks we dueled/kickballed had hami's and accolades.

lol, thanks for bringing so much attention to this thread. Despite the fact that it's just back and forth drama, it brings attention to it and draws people in, so go ahead and continue to argue. I will sit back and continue to watch the channel grow and watch KBs and other arena events become a mainstay again.

Also the channel is up to 170 members, pretty much all from Freedom, still growing. just sayin.

Hi, I know a lot of you probably don't recognize me but I have recently taken a pretty vested interest in getting some quality PvP going on in Arena on Freedom, and have recently created a central channel for it since the reality is AC is barely used for anything besides drama and trash talk. "Freedom PvP 2011" is a place a lot of us have agreed will be a good place for the remaining PvPers in the game, particularly on Freedom to start gathering together to make the best out of what's left, we have plans to do various arena events, including the already started nightly Kickballs.
We are hoping to get some other stuff going, that is more competitive, including hopefully sometime after i21 getting a full league started. I'm sure you are also asking how one person plans to do this... Well I don't know, but I do know that we have plenty of people willing to help out from the PvP community.
People more of you may recognize that are currently supporting this, @Teh Artic, @PF?, @Midnight Havoc, and some others that I can't remember, as well as a good supporting cast of people who are not "vets" but are interested in making this happen.
Currently we are using an anti-exclusivity policy in the channel, it's public and any PvPers are welcome to join, or anyone who is interested in PvP.
Only rules/guidelines of the channel are: Keep drama out of it as much as possible. I know that trash talk and such things are part of PvP, but if it becomes drama/trolling/griefing/etc. all people involved will likely be silenced and be asked to take it to tells. So far so good, have over 120 members mostly from Freedom, if you want in, send a tell to @TheKatalyst or join through the channel search, or ask around on Freedom there's other mods who will be happy to invite you.
Sorry for that huge wall of text but I wanted to make sure I covered everything. Thanks!
PS: We are doing this now in the hopes that i21 will bring back some people who would also be interested in this along side the non-vet people.
