Any idea how the Vet Tiers work?

I started playing maybe a year, or a year and a half after CoH came out. My wife maybe two years later.

So I look at the Tier 9 stuff they say they'll have, like the energy wings (something I've always felt was missing from the game) and how things will be rotated in and out of tier 9.

So I'm left to wonder what controls access to tiers. It seems you can skip stuff you don't want and focus on what you do, but how do you access the higher tiers?

Do you purchase access with the vet points? Do you simply have to wait for access after having the account for a certain time?

Anyhow hear anything about this? The details page seems to lack those details.

You use the Reward Tokens to "buy" each of the reward slots and must fill one tier before moving on to the next. Additionally, each tier has a bonus/unlocks game features ( tier 1 gets 50 Paragon Point, tier 2 unlocks Huge avatars/SG access/trading/email/MA, tier 3 privet channel access, etc.).

Every month you play you receive a Reward Token, you use those tokens to fill in the rewards table. Once a tier is filled in you unlock the next tier. I think you also get an extra token every year and every 1200 Paragon Points you buy [not receive] you get a token.

Existing players are receiving credit for their current Veteran Rewards. There is a somewhat fancy formula to figure out how many tokens you will start with.

Finally found some other info..

Mostly that there are contradicting information on how many points each tier will take.

I also wonder if I'll still get my 72 month badge at the end of august, with they starting to switch how the points acrue this month.

They are only switching when Issue 21 goes live. However as a 72 month veteran player, you'll be in Tier 8:
