Market bug: stored salvage listed instead of intended IO
Yes, it's a bug and yes, it sucks.
One workaround is to watch the blue text -when that updates, it knows you've actually put something in there to sell.
Another workaround is to leave your "Are you sure you wanna spend that much money?" window up. I do this because, well, it actually DOES save me from extra-zero syndrome. Almost always.

I believe this bug is related to prompts. If I get a prompt for a transaction (either "are you sure you wish to spend this" or "are you sure you wish to sell this"), I always cancel the transaction, disable that prompt, and repeat the transaction. Doing this has completely prevented me from ever selling the wrong thing.
On occasion, I have reverted to leaving the prompt up, to see if this bug still exists, and I have always run into it again. I have tested about three times.
Note that what I am describing is not what the GM was describing. I am confident that this can happen without "ghost" storage of what you meant to sell. When I try to sell "ghost" items that aren't actually in a market slot, nothing has ever happened.
I have a theory about the bug I am describing. The prompt appears over the market list. I suspect that the mouse click most of us use to respond to the prompt is registering on the market interface which is underneath, and if it lands on a market slot, it is moving the "cursor" in the market list so that when the transaction goes through, it may transact a different item than intended. This is the purest of speculation however - something else completely, such as a corrupted offset pointer, might be responsible.

This has happened to me! I thought I was crazy!
I've got a stack of 10 Deific Weapons that was mysteriously put on the block with an asking price of 11 million each. I don't know what it was that I had originally tried to sell or even when it happened. So now, won't one of you buy up all the Diefic Weapons and corner the market on 'em please?

I lost a respec recipe that dropped for me due to this bug. Was listing something else and BAM respec recipe sold for way less then it was worth, which was not the item I had placed up for sale! Pissed me the hell off.

Hi All,
I've run into this bug often enough that I thought that I'd warn folks. Basically, if you have an unlisted stack of salvage in slot #1 in your Stored tab and you list an IO for sale, sometimes the market posts the stack of salvage instead of the IO. Here's how it happened to me:
I filed a bug and the GM replied:
When you first place an item in your auction inventory, the item is displayed in your window but there is a few seconds before the item is officially posted. If you priced the item before the official posting, then an error similar to yours can occur.
To avoid this issue in the future, you can watch the inventory number on your "Stored" tab. When you first place the item this number will not change, but if you watch it, it will increase by one as soon as your item is officially posted.
However, I don't agree with his reply, because after I put the IO in the market, I do a Find to check the last sales. Then I list the IO. That should've been ample time.
All I can suggest is that if you are listing a hi-priced item, remove any stored items that are stacked before you list. Hope this helps.
