Here is a build I made, I plan to always use Granite Armor when I am tanking, but If I wish to take a more offensive roll then I will still have some good defense to use with out the offensive reduction of Granite Armor. I tried to slot as much +Rech as possible, while in Granite Armor with Hasten up, I should have +97.5% Rech. This build my be expensive or not, I am not sure about prices at all, but I do not really care, from what I can tell this build should be really good and if it takes me a long while to get it I am OK with that. If there is anything wrong/I need to improve on please let me know. I am still new at this.

Yeah, it's expensive. I make it somewhere between 10 and 13 billion, depending on your luck at the markets. You can easily reduce that by three billion by replacing the Gladiator's Armor 3% with a Steadfast Protection 3%.

On the defense side of things, your numbers in Granite look good: you've got softcapped defense, good resistances, and good regeneration. If you ever need to drop out of Granite to tank something psi-heavy (such as the Psychic Clockwork King or Praetorian Malaise), you'd better hope that the rest of the team has dealt with any non-psi attackers, because you're nowhere near the softcap, and Tough is badly underenhanced.

Slotting-wise, I'd rearrange things to put the Numina's unique into either Health or Rooted: right now, you only get the endurance and regen bonuses from Numina's for two minutes after you fire off EE, and the recharge on EE is longer than that, so the bonus isn't permanent. You've also got a huge endurance drain in Focused Accuracy: you'll need to either put some endurance reduction into that, or reserve it for situations where you really need the boost.

Offense-wise, I'm not familiar enough with Super Strength to evaluate it, but I can say that the damage numbers Mids' is showing you are exaggerated: it's assuming that the Gaussian's proc is firing every time you activate Rage.

In addition to Katie's points, the endurance use on this build could easily be crippling. There are four high-end cost toggles (Focused Accuracy, Mud Pots, Tough and Weave) and three Stone Armor toggles that are either underslotted or completely unslotted for end reduction. I'm not sure Physical Perfection will be enough for you to keep attacking, especially if you plan on running Mud Pots and Focused Accuracy on a regular basis.

Focused Accuracy in particular is poor choice, IMO, since Rage gives you a lot of additional ToHit anyway, and it's a HUGE end hog. I think Conserve Power would be a better choice. It would be easy enough to replace the S/L def lost by dropping the Rectified Reticle set by 4-slotting Smashing Haymaker or Kinetic Combat in Jab.

If you're seriously considering using this build without Granite, Rock, Crystal and Tough are woefully underslotted and your end problems will be even worse with all those additional toggles to run.

As Katie mentioned, the Numina's regen/recovery is largely wasted in EE since it will only be active when the power is. In addition, IMO the 5% recharge bonus you're getting from the Regen Tissues in Health is not worth the number of slots and the small enhancement value you're getting from them.

Here's a quick redo of your build. Recharge is just as high, and it's still soft-capped to S/L/E/NE/F/C in Granite, but the endurance usage and out-of-Granite survivability will be much, much better. On my own Stoner I built for soft-capped S/L/E/NE without Granite, (it's around 41% in this build) but that would be hard to do here without giving up some of the purple sets. I also threw in some run speed bonuses for good measure.

I was reading around and read that soft caps for incarnate content was 59% while all other content was 45%, So I made a build that would allow me to tank incarnate content as well. For this build I gave up the want for really high recharge and just settled for enough passive recharge to combat the reduction from granite armor. More input wanted as well, also could someone quote a price for this build if you could.

Remember however that currently most incarnate content is trial based so even though you will not be at the soft cap personally with all the team members with their buffs and leadership pools and Incarnate Barrier powers going off and heals etc etc you should be fine in most cases.


The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

This.

IMO, in the build the OP posted he's giving up way too much to get that Incarnate level defense. Most of the toggles are underslotted, no Stone Skin, Mud Pots underslotted for end reduction, other attacks underslotted for damage, Foot Stomp *un*slotted for damage(!). For all the defense I wouldn't want to play that build.

Here's a build I made for my own, a Stone/SS/Earth build. It's designed around being able to function without Granite, using it and an 'oh crap' power or when I know I'm going into a tough fight. I'm also planning on using the Cardiac Alpha to ease End issues and boost res.

Inside Granite it's softcapped to all but psi with S/L Resistances 2% from hardcap, assuming Tough is off. With Cardiac Alpha it's easily hardcapped. E/N/F/C res is at 77-79% (85-87.5% with Alpha).

Outside Granite it can be expensive running all the toggles, but you're softcapped to S/L/E/N and Psi, with 33% S/L Res (38% with Alpha) and 39% to F/C (44% with Alpha). End cost can be reduced by shutting off unneeded toggles. No F/C baddies? Drop Brimstone. No Psi damage? Drop minerals.

Recharge is high enough that once Granite is you you'll be at just over +3% global recharge (68.8% outside of it) plus a double slotted Hasten.

Kazo, your build isn't bad at all, but it's quite possible to soft-cap in Granite without spending the 2 billion on the GA +Def. Here's a quick rework of your build with no GA +Def. It's soft-capped to S/L/E/NE/F/C in Granite, close to soft-capped to S/L outside of Granite, and has a bit more run speed and recovery than your build.
