I'm rerolling my scrappers into brutes
My only (admittedly minor) issue with the fury changes (not so recent at this point) is that the only way to completely get the bar maxed is with the alignment power Frenzy. I forget where it functionally caps outside of that, but it does. I guess the intent was for the 90-100% range to be the proverbial "11." We can go there, just don't get to all the time.
That said, I do like it somewhat more than OG fury, these days being able to hit the 70-80 mark from purely one's own attacks is pretty sweet.
I'm not a big fan of the Brute changes for a number of reasons, but I find that I still prefer Brutes to Scrappers. Not having to chase runners is almost reason enough.

This is great too, something I hadn't noticed much despite having a 50 and a 36 brute because I was always teamed and worried about fury and I played them only when requested, never soloed. Now soloing even my dm/da at +1/x3 (she's 12 now) I see a huge difference, you attack a mob, he runs a bit and comes back.
not to mention that with the villain frenzy power you can fire up your fury bar licketty-split
I like that more than an extra mini-hasten for a frenzy.

I find a lot of people exaggerate the fury changes, i wouldnt have even noticed if i didnt know about it honestly. I dont find myself any lower or higher on dmg. If anything i dont like the lowered dmg cap we got at the same time.

Fiery Aura is only good for farming, I'm cereal

Even before the changes it was impossible to get fury up to 100%, and 90 was still rather unheard of.

The only time I had some difficulty with fury was on one team but this specific team had a plant and an elec dom so everybody was confused all the time, I wasn't complaining because I stopped dying since we had no heals (important on the low levels) or buffs before the doms arrived and I was grabbing alpha and all the aggro since the ss/elec brute hadn't gotten his damage aura, besides having endurance troubles with my 4 toggles at DO levels (oh dark armor why do I love you so much

Seriously, I read about the Brute changes while I was out of the game but I thought 'meh less fury'.
But then, I came back and noticed that I LOVE the changes (I know, I'm late to comment about that with all the incarnate shenanigans which I still have no clue about).
One thing that made me not level my 2 or 3 brutes was chasing fury. I felt I was always chasing it all the time and all it took was a small hallway and I started doing crappy damage again. I kept my fury high on steamroller teams but I like the lower levels and nobody's steamrolling at level 10.
But now that fury decays so much slower, Brutes have became a joy to play for me. It was not a common occasion for Brutes to be at 80-90% fury anyway, keeping a steadier 70% is fine for me.
I mean, how else could I one-shot white minions with Swipe with nothing slotted (yeah Swipe, I hate Strike's animation)?
That's why except for the outliars (like my FM/SD scrapper, which gets so much more benefit from SD than Brutes, and well I really don't have so many melee toons except Stalkers who I have a soft spot) I find my Brutes more enjoyable and more durable. I'm having tons of fun with a lowbie Claws/Dark in Prateoria, and just rerolled my 50 DM/DA Scrapper into a Brute. Not hard to do since she's level 22 after a little playing because of you know what.
Who knows, even my Elec/Stone Brute which is 50 and I stopped playing out of frustration (taking so long to kill 3 Roman lieuts and a boss, I sapped them before I killed them) may have a new life.
All in all, I think the changes have made Brutes more enjoyable, at least for me, WAY more.
