Is it possible to run 2 instances of CoH on the same computer?

I want to set up a second account of CoH, and run both on the same computer. Is this possible? Does anybody else do this? If so, how powerful does my rig need to be and how do I go about actually doing it?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, I run 2 sessions all the time, have even had 3 sessions up at times. As for the Rig, not sure what your spending limit is, but basically a good amount of ram and a good graphics card and you should be fine.

Might want to post your current Rig....it might already be sufficient in running 2 sessions or at least be able to upgrade.

Yes. Generally, any system with a dualcore processor and decent ram (2+ gigs, make it 4 or above for a comfortable experience these days) will do the trick. You might have to lower graphic settings for it to work if you run into issues.

You just start two instances of CoH one after another and play like normally. One command that is useful to type is /maxinactivefps 1 - 1, or any other number, basically the maximum number of frames you want that window to have while you're not playing it. The lowest the better, as this frees up more resources so the instance you're playing is smoother.

If you are using the ncsoft launcher, make sure to enable multiple instances in the options menu.

I have a WIN XP PRO (32-bit) rig, 4 GB memory (only shows like 2.8 GB because of 32-bit limitations), Intel 2 Duo 8500 Wolfdale @ 3.18 GHz, and an ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB that is factory overclocked, 750 Watt PS.

Thanks for all the responses!

I have seen a decent laptop run 3 instances and make it. The settings were set pretty low. I run two instances in ultra on my gaming pc, but that is an AMD six core processor, 16 gigs of RAM and a 2 gig AMD video card. Even then it chokes bouncing back and forth sometimes.

No problem at all. I ran two accounts with a Core2Duo and 2GB of RAM. Any recent system will be more powerful than that (I built that system almost 4 years ago). Now I have a quad core with 8GB. Since the Test Server is considered a different account, maybe I'll try running 4 instances to see how it goes.

This.

It's not a bad idea to add that in even without multiple accounts running.

Go crazy next time they open up the beta server - run 6.
