We then took on the Clockwork King, and he fell far more quickly. We're not sure, but we think we may have punched through the purple triangles, as he spent the entire fight held. (We took a screenshot with Synapse after, but my file didn't come out. If anyone else has a good shot, please post it.)

Most of us are inching into the 30s. Our next run will be Saturday, August 6, at 2:00 PM Eastern. We're eager to take on Sister Psyche, as that TF will not exemp us below creeper use. The record number of Creepers we've seen together have been five, and it's quite pretty, if not deadly.

As always, newcomers are welcome, they just have to be blueside on Freedom.
It was a fun fun time! I would love to the screenie, too, if anyone got one.

Oh goody! Thanks. Just checked it out. It's a good shot. Makes me want to run Fern NAO.

After many hours of planting fun, I finally got Fern d'Vine up to Creepers yesterday! (And yes, I got her tree, too, finally.) I'm so excited and can't wait to drop mine along with everyone else's . . . it's going to be gorgeous!

Nice job, Tahl. I can't wait for us to have a team going where all of us have Creepers, if just to see what that will look like. My computer might crash after, but it'll be worth it!

Mine, too, but definitely worth it! Went ahead and hit 27 so I could get some lvl 30 enh and took care of that today. Fern's all ready for Saturday (I may finish the Striga arc and lvl 20 costume mish before then for wedding band and the third costume slot).

This week, our brave gardeners took on the Sister Psyche TF. We had two dominators, myself and one newcomer, along with a gaggle of controllers. Sister Psyche was kind enough to exemp us to a level where the majority of us still had access to Creepers. For the first time, we got to see at least five, maybe six, Creeper fields going on at once. After our creepers and roots ripped apart clockwork after clockwork, we finally faced off against Clamor. Between the many, many, many debuffs from our controllers---plus the creepers and attacks from our dominators---Clamor quickly fell. (For those of you that have a good screenshot, please post it in the Controller forum; my shot didn't turn out well.)

Next week will probably be Citadel, presuming enough of us are at the right level!

Our brave gardeners gathered TWICE this weekend for the double XP period. On our regular day, Saturday, we accepted Citadel's challenge to trim the ranks of the Council. Soldier after soldier fell to our weeds, and we finally tracked down Vandal. Most of us had Carrion Creepers by now, and a field of creepers began to rip Vandal apart. Surrounded by the glow of Spirit Trees---what a way to go---he was quickly dispatched. Here's another picture of the triumphant team:

On Sunday, we gathered six planters (along with a pickup Corrupter and Scrapper) to take down Mendor Lazarus's task force. No fewer than FIVE AVs were situated against us, but we prevailed. First Nosferatu fell to our roots, then Burkholder to our vines, and finally Requiem, Vandal, and Maestro to our creeper fields. (Nosferatu helped with that last one.) Here's a pic of the proud horticultarists, standing where those three tough AVs once stood:

Next week, we'll probably be on to Manticore. If too many people are below that level, though, we might fall back and do Ernesto Hess or Katie Hannon. All plant dom/cont newcomers (and melee types that have some link to plants; e.g. earth or spines) are welcome, you just have to be blueside on Freedom.

Greetings, Planters. I was figuring on asking the general populace for help with a build. But then I realized the build I have is really good. So I decided to share it here with you all. It's a Plant/Rad perma controller. If you like the build, don't like it, or have any other questions or comments, feel free to make them. I am looking for some way to fit Spirit Tree into the mix.

I would remove some slots from consume. I would put one in Seeds and finish Coercive to get +5 ranged def. I would also put more into lingering from somewhere. I guess ranged def is not so important on a rad, but if you lose anchor with rad infection, down you would go.

This isn't an economy build, so my suggestions aren't cheap (heh), but I wonder if you need consume at all? It's not until lvl 47, and you can get either cardiac or musculature for end in Alpha at lvl 50. Just a thought, but that would free up some slots and give you a power pick for spirit tree.

In health, you can add the Numina and Miracle procs for + recovery; Numina includes a +regen bonus, too. If you want to keep the 5 DWs for the recharge bonus, then consider slotting health with 6, so you can put a Miracle in for the +15% recovery (this should be fine to get you to 50 and your Alpha), but that's a lot of slots in health (I usually only have 3, the 3 procs).

I agree with Nec on finishing off Coercive, too, the bonus is too good to pass up. You could take a slot from Assault and one from Hasten to bolster lingering and seeds of confusion. Assault doesn't use much end, so one end red should be sufficient.

I see that you are going for recharge, so think about putting Apocalypse in fire blast instead of Decimation? I run 5 posi and the chance for kd Ragnorak proc in my creepers, and I love it. This would also give you another posi set with the recharge bonus.

These are just ideas, though, and dependent on what you want your toon to do.

Thanks for the responses. I'll play with them in Mid's and see which ones I Like more. On a more SG related note. I've added another smaller (2x2) workshop. This one is imply to place more storage. We have near the maximum that the base plot will allow. We need Pelagea (wtwall01) to set the permissions. After that, with the exceptions of the RWZ and Pocket D beacons, I declare the base to be complete. It's all gravy from there onward.

OK, I think I've got it. The new build is below. And yeah some parts are very costly. I'll be working on this toon for a while.

This looks great, May (I want to call you Vineyard from running with you on Saturdays, heh).

I love having a build to . . . well, build toward. I decided after running a couple of trials on my plant/emp (on liberty, not a Garden Stater) that I wanted two builds for her, one for trials and one for "normal" play. She just didn't need the same things in trials that she needs in PVE (like recovery aura is redundant and silly in trials because everyone has their end attended to by then, etc.), so I have a whole second build to work on for her. Such fun!

Yeah, so do I. The build will probably change a small amount just through in game testing. But, overall, I like the feel of it. And with that, I invite the other planters. Or those who are merely observing to post your leafy builds... Or spiny builds for those scrappers among us.

I've been following the exploits of Garden State for the past while. I hope it's still running come I21 (I'm sure it will) as I was hoping to start up a plant/poison controller with the new power proliferation.

Good hunting!

Hi Mala. We're still running, no thanks to my recent absence. My online time has been very irregular over the past few weeks; finished up at a term job and have been taking some vacation time with family. I should be on more regularly from here on out. I'm not sure what we'll be doing this week---maybe a TF, maybe just some tips. Once you're ready to join us, feel free to add me on global (@wtwall01) and we'll get your alt into the SG.

Greetings, Mal. Yes, as wtwall01 has said we're still alive and kicking. I've got my first member of the SG to 50 and will also be starting my new planter when poison get proliferated over. There's no need to wait, though. If you want to join send a global message to either wtwall01 or to myself (global handle @Heavy Epsilon).

Actually that last bit goes for any lurkers paying attention. If you want to send a message to either my global or to my toon on freedom (Vibrant Vineyard), feel free. I'll answer any questions or invite requests I receive. If you don't catch me, keep trying. I'm on for a couple of hours every day.

Thanks guys! At the time of my previous post, I wasn't sure when I21 was coming out. I didn't think it would be around 4 days after.

See you guys in game soon.
Mal

Sorry yet again for my recent absence, Planters. I've recently moved, and both my internet and the laptop I used to run City of Heroes decided to crap out on Saturday. I just got my internet back up, and my new computer should arrive in time for next week. Sacred, if you get a chance, can you update our SG message to indicate that we'll be playing next Saturday? I'd do it, but until the new computer arrives, I can't get on.

Thanks all, and I'll see you soon. Again, sorry for the recent issues. As hard as I try, I can never do a move without something crazy happening.

Yeah, no problem. You didn't miss much, the powers that be decided that it would be a smart thing to shut down the servers for 4 hours on sat. Our usual planned plant session fell right in the middle of the down time. Talk about a bummer.

Take care of what needs doing, wtwall01. We'll figure something to do.

Well, more bad news, all. My new computer isn't shipping until October 4th, 2011 (although it might ship a bit earlier, per the manufacturer). That means I'm out of commission until at least the weekend after next, and maybe even a bit later. Happy playing until I'm back. I'm so jealous of those of you rolling Plant/Poisons. Kick some baddies for me!

Wtwall01 is back on the scene.

I saw it for the first time last night (I'm new). I loved the look - very appropriate for Garden State.

I'm gonna try really hard to catch the next superteam meet!

Attention fellow Controllers. Garden State is again recruiting, and welcomes all capable Planters out there. For the basics, please refer to the first post in this thread. In summary, we're an all Plant SG on Freedom with a number of vet players. We try to play at least once a week, gathering predominantly on Saturday at 2 PM Eastern.

We're not as restrictive on powerset as the name suggests: we allow Spines types who can do a bit of a Lawnmower approach, any and all Plant Control types (controllers and defenders), and will expand out to anything Nature Affinity once that goes live. If you'd like to join our motley crew (and see just what 8 Carrion Creepers can do), feel free to tell me in game. My global is @wtwall01.
