A possible idea.
I'd suggest if you form a static team (starting at level 1) make sure everyone is in a levelling pact within that static group.
I'm up for this idea, and I agree with Voodoo.
Duly noted, Voodoo. I completely forgot about level pacts, as I've only ever been in one, but that's a wonderful idea. Thanks! =D
Thanks for the interest, ShadowWings! Happy to know that at least someone would be interested in doing this, as I was rather worried I'd get a whole lotta nothing after I posted this. =P.
Okay, so I've been thinking the concept through a little bit more, attempting to figure out how to tie in a group of heroes from Praetoria eventually becoming a team fighting for the good of Primal Earth. And what I have is this:
It could be a group of young upstarts, in their late teens to early twenties, all members of the Powers Division who want to make a name for themselves. These aren't your typical heroes who will want to do everything they can for the good of the community - these are the heroes who want to be on Oprah's couch, on the cover of magazines, blowing kisses to the adoring masses as they pass by. This would make sense, as almost all of the Powers Division missions involve making a name for yourself, of course. And when they come to Primal Earth, that idea is only strengthened - while they would have been a group of ambitious people in Praetoria, just select individuals within the Powers Division who happen to be working together, they could come together as an actual team on Primal Earth.
They'd be a bit like the Avengers, in that the government would likely be supporting and monitoring them, perhaps sponsored by an individual or two who want to see heroes put in the spotlight even more, but again, they wouldn't be all about protecting civilians. They'd do that, but they'd do it in a very outrageous, look-at-me-I'm-an-awesome-hero way. Smile for the cameras as you punch a bad guy in the face, essentially. Granted, they might grow into your more typical heroes as time goes on, which could just lead to that much more character development - there could be schisms, arguments, fights for the spotlight, etc. You know the deal.
So. While this might have deviated from my initial intention to have a group that would be like... the equivalent of the Avengers in COH, I actually like this idea more. I personally believe that it's a nice deviation from the vast majority of, though wonderful, 'typical' SG's, fighting only for the good of society. Yeah. Here's hoping this generates some interest, as I'm personally quite fond of this idea, and I'd love to run with it. =D
Oh I'm so in for this. Been wanting to do something of this in a concept anyway.
As I was going up the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish, he'd stay away.

This is relevant to my interests.
Did you have anything in mind as far as team composition goes?
I am currently in a static group, but another one wouldn't hurt, depending on the date and time you intend to play. Count me as interested though.
I'm with thgebull here. We belong to the same static group, and I'd be interested in another.
I'd be interested, too, depending on the time/days.
I liked your concept until I hit "Teen".
I am also a new comer to Virtue, and I'm looking for something for my main character "Dinah Might" to be part of on this server. As a "accomplished" player and supergroup leader from another server, I have a well developed character and can even convince other people to join this idea.
However, my character is 34, and a mother.
Is there still room?
I'm new to Virtue also and I have just the character to join up. But it'll be dependent upon day/time.

Oh wow. I wake up, and there's this much interest. I like. =D
Yes, Dinah, I'm sure that character!Dinah would be perfectly capable of getting in on this. The reason why I said teens/young adults is that they're more prone to stupidity and attention-mongering than most adults are, from what I've seen. No, I'm sure any aged character could fit, so long as they have an adoration of the spotlight and the desire to see their name up in lights or whatever. Which brings even better news: I have a name that, personally, I'm quite fond of for the team that hopefully will blossom into a supergroup, which is just so cheesy that I couldn't help but love it.
The Wonders.
Yeah. I was looking for something along the lines of the Avengers, or the Ultimates - a one-word name that most will not be able to get out of their minds. I don't know about you guys, but personally, I love it. I couldn't get the 'The' in there, but 'Wonders' is reserved by a character that I don't really play that often anymore as of yesterday, so it's there if the supergroup goal ever actually gets reached.
As far as day/time goes, that's up to you guys. I'm generally impartial, as I'm able to play for extended periods of time every day of the week, so I'd rather let you guys try and decide what day works best for you. It seems that several of you already have static groups and whatnot going, whereas I don't, so it'd be easier to just let you all figure out which days are best. =D
If you guys have any more questions, or need to contact me, my global is @Nascentish; just fire me a tell or whatever, and I'll reply as soon as possible. =D
I'm in the ET zone. How about the others interested? Might help come up with a time. Thursdays don't generally work for me. Sundays around 6ET? Wednesdays 7ET?
Will we be starting in Praetoria then? I take it if we do, we'll be resistance. Once that is all clear, then I need to think........think dammit think.........
CST Time here (Kansas). Not good on Monday and Wenesday nights, otherwise I'm good for any other day.
I'm also ET, probably should have mentioned that.
And while I was hoping for us to start in Praetoria, so as to offer a wider variety of AT's and whatnot, I was actually thinking we'd go Loyalist, particularly the Powers storyline. After all, my vision of the Wonders was for them to be the attention-craving heroes that want nothing more than to be in the tabloids. Which is particularly what the Powers storyline entails, no? =P
I dunno if I could play a spotlight craving toon but I am still heavily interested in this.
Well they wouldn't necessarily have to be craving the spotlight. They just would need to have some reason for aligning themselves with some who do - for instance, someone who simply wanting to make a name for himself as a hero for no other reason than to make people believe that they can turn to and trust him might be willing to put up with truly irritating allies who just want attention in general. If that makes any sense, of course.
Look at it this way: The X-Men obviously wanted to show the world that mutants weren't all bad - doesn't mean that they turned Emma Frost away, despite the fact that she was quite full of herself and seemed to adore attention.
Plus, having a few who aren't so focused on just the spotlight could be refreshing - it would add variety, and be cause for arguments and confrontations as time goes on. =D
Edit: Also, do note that my ideas aren't the be-all end-all. While I like the idea of a team of self-centered jerks, if you guys would prefer to have a team more like the Avengers, wherein there are actually some good people involved, that's perfectly fine. I'm open to suggestions and input, and I'm far more willing to go with what you guys want than to push my own ideas on you all. So if you guys are more fond of the idea of a very justice-oriented, protecting the people group, that's fine - I'll just probably keep my character as being attention-focused, and everything will be just peachy. =D. Just let me know what you all want, I'm very open to suggestions.
Good luck, not sure I would be able to commit to such an idea well enough. Hope you find folks that can.
Heroes : Angrem (50 Stone tank), Exo Inferis (50 Fire blaster), Exo Proteus (50 ill/emp), IceVengance (50 cold defender)
Villains : AtomBomb (50 Rad/Kin corruptor), Aleks (50 SS/Inv brute), StoneLethal (50 EM/Stone brute), Davroz (50 Bots/Dark mastermind)
The more I think about it, the more I'm afraid this does not sound like the "group" for my Main.....
.... however, I am always looking for new people to play with on Virtue.
I think it might be a good mach for my new character "Explosive Girl".
Either character would be quite welcome, Dinah. I'm just quite grateful for the interest, and I'm willing to do whatever I need to to shape this idea in order to keep everyone interested in it, y'know? =P
This would give me an excuse to make a archer-type toon xD. Y'know, like Green Arrow & Hawkeye.
I'm ET also. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights are all good.

So, should we go ahead and try to see when a good time is for everyone?
Yes, for sure. As I've said, I'm good for any night at all, so it's ultimately up to you guys. From what I can gather, Monday and Wednesday are pretty much out, as are Thursdays, for the most part. How does Tuesday around seven sound to everyone?
We can work out scheduling and whatnot after we decide on the day, to figure out how long we'd be playing for - at present, I'm thinking of around two and a half hours or so. Half an hour of general rp for character development, mission briefing, etc., and then two hours of playing through various missions and arcs. Of course, further rp afterwards would be fine, but not mandatory; of course, this is all up to debate, it's just the general structure that I had in mind.
Hi there, Virtue! Now, this idea has probably been done to death, but I thought I'd ask it anyway, because I'm desperate. =P. So, as a relative newcomer to Virtue, I only have one character that I play regularly, who, though fun, can get tedious to play at times. Of course, the logical solution would be to just make another character, but I can't get the idea out of my head of wanting to level my next character as part of a team.
So, Virtue, I come to you. I was essentially hoping to form an rp static team in much the same line as the Avengers, the Ultimates, etc. etc.: a group of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, possibly sanctioned by the government. My personal opinion is that it would be insanely fun to level these characters together right from the get-go, and perhaps form a supergroup in the long run with them at the center - essentially, have the ability to play a group of characters from their first meeting, form relationships, friendships, rivalries, etc, and eventually make something out of it.
If such a thing doesn't interest anyone but me, that's completely understandable. I just thought that I would propose the idea, as I would very much like to get another character going, and have yet to be part of any rping outside of random encounters in-game, for the most part. So yes! If you're interested, just post here with what sort of character you might be thinking of making (I personally like the idea of starting in Praetoria, simply because that offers a wider variety of ATs and more interesting missions, imo), and we'll see what we can make of it!
tl;dr: I want to make a static team that will eventually blossom into a potential sg, with the ability to form relationships and whatnot from the very beginning. Please don't throw kittens at me. =D.
