Insps and more Insps?

1. Can we get the ability to combine 3 like inspirations into 1 insp of the same type but of the next higher tier added to the insp combo selection list? (for example: 3 Insights = 1 Keen Insight)

2. When a player levels while in a team, 'morale gets boosted' for anyone near the player (or everyone on the team); allowing them all to get a T1 Inspiration boost to correspond with the leveling player's T3 boost?

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
*Arc #95278-Gathering the Four Winds -3 step arc; challenging - 5 Ratings/3 Stars (still working out the kinks)
*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

I'd rather not. Large Inspirations provide a huge bonus to whichever stat it increases, thus they are harder to find. With this idea all it would take for a large inspiration would be to buy smaller ones from the Hospital Nurse and just keep combining upwards until they had a tray full of larges.

It'd probably be a little hard to implement (turning a level up into a PBAoE buff) and then you'd have to decide who would get it, teammates or everyone. Plus it might be OP'ed if a single level up could rez the whole team.

Inspirations are fine the way they are now, they don't really need anything added or changed. :/

Yeah this insp idea could be horribly abused and farmed for cash on the market.

What would stop people from buying small insps via vendors and using insp combining macros to get a full tray of large insps in seconds?

Mains (Freedom) @Auroxis
Auroxis - Emp/Rad/Power Defender Pylon Video Soloing an AV
Pelvic Thunder - SS/Elec/Mu Brute
Sorajin - Elec/Nin Stalker
Neuropain - Sonic/Mental/Elec Blaster

Not really, the supply would overwhelm the demand and the ease of acquisition would actually undermine the market.

I suppose this would be a valid concern.

And that's exactly why it's a bad idea. Do you realize how many players rely on selling the two inspirations they get in the tutorial as start up cash?

Not everyone (especially new players) has rich alts they can use to twink out new characters.

Wait, on the one hand you're saying that its a bad idea because it'll put money into players pockets, then you say its a bad idea because it'll take money out?

I said it would be abused by flooding the market with large insprations for quick inf which would result in legitimate players getting screwed on startup cash.

This is how RMTers abuse exploits, and this idea would be an exploit. They don't give a damn about ruining things for legitimate players. And with the switch to F2P we are going to see the return of a lot of RMTers.

No it wouldn't. Nobody would pay current market price for t3s when they could just make them for 450 each from a store.

So yes people would abuse it, but nobody'd be getting rich.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

I guess my argument against theses suggestions is a bit simpler: They are both unnecessary.

The advent of the Insps being cast on a character when it levels up was (and is) powerful enough. I don't see any reason why giving OTHER characters a similar benefit is even close to necessary. It isn't even a QoL change, really. I especially see issue in lower levels where leveling happens ridiculously often. I can see situations where every team member could have Large AND several Small Insps cast on them, which trivializes already fairly easy content. Leave the trivialization of content to the Incarnates.

As for the first idea? Again, I see no reason for this at all. Secondly, higher level Insps should be harder to get than small ones... for obvious reasons. But this would actually make them all equally easy, which is just plain illogical. There is a certain amount of balance that needs to be maintained.

#1. Personally, my oversight on this was forgetting 'Vendor' purchasable Inspirations. As someone stated earlier, it would be too easy just to buy the cheapos and bump them up to T3s; thereby trivializing the drop system for them. Otherwise, not really a bad idea.

As far as the second portion, low-level trivialization is a poor position to hold, IMO. Levels 1-10 pretty much cease to exist in solo play and can be totally eradicated by PUGs and better. Then there's Super SKing. Having a PBAoE T1 insp boost when leveling at this (or any other level range) really shouldn't be an issue. For me, it would be more of a game mechanic expression of RP morale. (like the effect on Greek troops when Achilles would hit the field and smackdown whoever the other morale-breaker was). Feeding off of that burst of 'positive energy'.

And when is necessity, necessarily a req here?

Never underestimate what chinese prisoners forced to farm for RMT companies will do. If it's exploitable they will be exploiting it. They don't give a damn about the games they are forced to play. They only care about not getting beaten by the guards.
