I Am Awesome!
Congratulations on being awesome.
I would give anything to be able to play /shield without having to wear a shield nor use alternate animations. Still a major pet peeve of mine that they tied the best scrapper secondary to very specific graphics. Yes, I had to share that. Again.

I like this part :P
This is why people have Scrapper Lock. Totally grok this stuff.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
Fm/SD does that. It's pretty hilarious when you do it during the BAF, too!
It is simple reality, that by the numbers, Brutes are better.
But as I have said many times, Scrappers got STYLE.
Rock on! Rawr!
I had this exact same feeling on my DM/SD scrap last night on a Kahn, a stone tank was sitting there trying to taunt it away and he just kept tryin to pound on me to no avail. Always love stealing aggro, I always say to myself "I'm in your spawn stealing your aggro"
Of course, the flip side is tonight: level 42 fire melee/shield. I join a level 50 team in RWZ, on the mission arc that ends with the fight with the rikti AV and then Nemesis AV. These are level 53 and 54 AVs, I'm sidekicked to 49, there is no WAY I am their biggest threat, and yet... I'm shield, so I'm their biggest threat.
I died at least four times. Somehow I got up and got the killing shot in on Nemesis though. Not that I really had any business doing that with the type of damage I was doing overall. ^_^

Totally agree. My fire/shield toon has gone from my most annoying toon to my most played and favorite toon. I often out tank our tanks and brutes, I clear mobs faster than pretty much anyone on my team and I can keep trucking into the next group without thinking about it. And if things get bad I still have One with the Shield to pop (which I pretty much never need to). When I did the Reichs (before my Incarnate powers) on this toon, he followed me around like a puppy. If I wanted him moved he moved tank taunt be d@mned. That is power!

). So we formed up a Khan TF -- one brute, one tank, two scrappers, three blasters, and crab. I offered to switch to something that could actually debuff, but on second thought everyone agreed we had too much damage to really be concerned with debuffing.
I've been working up a new fire melee/shield scrapper that I plan to IO out similarly to my EM/shield scrapper Sparks Fly, IE "as expensively as possible". But last night my friend wanted to PL another friend, so I brought Sparks Fly, who is hands-down my go-to toon for farming or anything requiring massive carnage. Six AoEs, you know, counting Judgement. ^_^
When I got in the mission the team went one direction, I went another, and met up with them at the back end of the map. Scrapper style! (This was a Battle Maiden map, +3).
We ran the map a second time, and I did die once mostly from not paying attention to my health. But that's a defense toon for you, too: mostly awesome, sometimes dead very fast. But my friend really wanted to run the Dr. Khan TF for the WST reward. He's working on his T4 Alpha. Technically so am I with Sparks, although I haven't really worked too hard at it. (I'd have it already but I built the wrong T3
Anyway the TF went well. But the thing that made me feel completely awesome was the final fight, because a lot of the time Riechs was focused on me. Nothing says, "You're the baddest person in the room!" like an AV that ignores the tank and the brute and targets you instead -- especially when he still can't kill you. ^_^
It was a long fight and obviously I wasn't tanking him all of the time, or even half the time probably. At two points I pulled back to rest because I was out of inspirations and low on health and endurance. But I never died, and the tank did die once, and for the minute or so he was down I was clearly the one tanking Riechs. When I moved away so the tank could rez, Riechs followed me, so there was no doubt. He wanted me dead first!
Anyway, I just had to share. This is why I play a scrapper. It's not even about what I can actually do -- that's what the scrapper challenges are for. It's just the feeling that I was the most dangerous weapon in the room, and the enemy knew that. ^_^
