VMWare question

I have an internet site I have to use for my job and it only works on IE. I got a Macbook Pro and decided to try the trial version of VMWare Fusion. I did a virtual machine, it runs horribly slow. For kicks I tried the NCSoft Launcher and it is useless the lag is so bad. SO before I make a purchase is there anyone with experience with this or advice on a program I can use that won't so slow. Again the primary purpose is so I can run Internet Explorer. FYI the spec for the MBP are 2.53 GHz corei5, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 500GN SATA 5400, NVIDIA 330m

Virtual machines have specific settings inside the VM that must be adjusted. I think the standard VM is between like 512MB and 1 GB. You'll have to pump up the setting to get better performance. Another option is to use TeamViewer and hit another machine with it.

You've only got a 5400rpm drive in the MBP and the single biggest performance issue with VMs in a desktop environment is Disk I/O, the second is RAM; how much RAM did you give the VM?

4 (out of 8) processor cores and close to max RAM at 3000 mb

No matter what you do, VMWare won't be nearly as fast as a native Windows PC.

If you really need to use Internet Explorer for Windows for work you're either going to have to deal with the sluggishness or try Crossover (from Codeweavers) and deal with less sluggishness. It comes with IE built in.

Or...use Safari, turn on the Developer menu, and change the User Agent. That will only work if your work site doesn't use ActiveX.
