Non-IO (or SO) Bot/Traps help!
lots of recharge in pgt, acid mortar, hasten
3 acc in bottom tier pet
2 acc/2 def/1 end/1 dmg in prot bot
2 acc/3 dmg in assault bot
But frankenslotting is almost as cheap as IOs, and if you start running tip mishes at 20 you can buy the expensive goodies with alignment merits.

A quick build, based on the powers you've selected. I'm not a fan of the mastermind attacks (personally, I'd drop one of them for Triage Beacon and another for Fly), but I've given them decent slottings anyway. My power choices at 41, 47, and 49 are based around transitioning to a "tankermind" playstyle, and should let you go big-game hunting (some GMs and AVs) at 50.
I've used one set IO (the Edict of the Master defense bonus); if you don't want that one, the slot can be moved to Seeker Drones as a second recharge IO.

But as for this:

Pay attention to slotting and procs in particular and you'll do vastly more damage. A good tanker mind needs to bring some damage if he really wants to pull aggro! Remember that taunt effects are multiplied by damage. Just a provoke by itself doesn't keep a mobs attention for long, you have to 'seal the deal' with solid attack. AoEs work great with provoke.
1) I totally agree a lot of emphasis is on the incarnate level builds. More level-up options is a good thing for pre-level 50 game.
2) I really like photon grenades on a robot mastermind, no so much for damage, but for the extra stacking stuns to layer on top of the proto-bots stuns.
3) I am not so keen on the robot mastermind pulse rifle. Plasmatic taser isn't a nuke, but it does leverage more knockback with the robots' kb powers.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I find I have to take them or I get bored out of my skull waiting for my minions to finish something, once I set a trap or two (Acid and PGT) then it's just a matter of sending "Attack this" commands, so I get to fire off a round of two as well.

If I'm fighting a hard target (AV or GM), I'll drop the Pulse Rifle Burst attacks from the chain, because I don't have the endurance recovery to sustain that for more than two minutes or so.

Well, my SearchFU has found alot of really useful guides to build some really tricked out IO builds for Bots/Traps, but, what about us folks who can't afford it or are still on our way to 50? Could anyone suggest regular slotting for all the powers that are listed bellow, please ignore when the powers are taken as I just quickly tossed them all in.
