you're not doing it right.
first, the tanker have a really low base damage, so it's not really the good AT to deal damages.
since you don't raise your def, nor your res, go for a brute, you'll deal more, and tank as much damage.

second, your slotting is weird.
4-slotting with expensive purples IO is ... eer ... you miss the best bonus of the set (i.e. the 10% rech bonus)

third.
talking about rech bonus... I can't see what you are trying to stack.
you want more damage, but you are not stacking damage or recharge
in fact you aren't stacking anything, it look likes you puts random sets on every power of your toon, without any goal to reach.

if I would make a quick fire/fire tank build in the price range of yours, I'd go for this (it's a quick build, it can really be tweaked)

Thanks. Its my first toon dont really know what goals to go for, and how to slot. I have a few ?'s about the build. Why no rez (Rise of the phoinex), and no consume? Without consume i suck, especially when needing endurance when you are farming, but i think i know why. ITs because also consume has a long recharge right? and i need the sofcapped smash and lethat def? im going to try the build out and see were it goes. Ty for advice

First off Slad why did u not take consume in that build? That is something u will need for 2 reasons first off it gets your end back and second it dose damage. Second why should he go Pyre if they want energy? Third off some of the things u put on it you really do not need for it like Build up, Temp Protection. This is the build I use and it is easier to make then you would with the purples.

Here is my 2 cents. If you are worried about the prices of the purples at first, use Posi Blast and Oblits in their places. Same bonuses just smaller. As for KB resist, 3 pts or better is fine for most content. I've seen builds with 12 pts but in my experience, anything in the game able to beat 3-4 pts, will also beat 12+. This is fire armor, you will get hit. No matter how much defense you get from sets and powers, you have no defense debuff resist at all. Once you get hit by that first debuff, your defense will plummet fast, therefore you need to have Healing Flames recharge as fast as possible. So, take out those foes that slow you first.

Here is my 2 cents. If you are worried about the prices of the purples at first, use Posi Blast and Oblits in their places. Same bonuses just smaller. I thought I'd take Booboo and revamp him some, for me I would want more than just mag 4 kb prot, try Rikti Pylons otomh I noticed that with Ninja run it can get upto a not too shabby 61mph.

Just wanted to say to the OP that, there are so many power choices and so many different ways to slot because we are all different. I did a fire farm with an empty build today, first time I tanked on a fire farm (seriously) slowly working out which insps I liked the most. I liked the lucks a lot so defense came up trumps for me.

In my experience, only some EBs, AVs, GMs and bosses regularly beat 3-4 pts resist. And when they do, even with 10-12 pts, they can bounce you around. Pylons are just mean if you dont have KB protect.

I have a toon with 4 KB protection that is not a tank that still gets KBed by lot of other stuff besides EBs, AVs, and GMs. Some of the Bosses and Lieutenants has that as well, plus you have to remember we are talking bout a tank who should grab aggro away from the others you can not do that if your always KBed.

On squishy characters I would suggest at least 8pts of KB protection. Most things in the game won't break that. Yes, you will get knocked around if you are a blaster and you are standing melee on a GM. If you're that close, you deserve to get knocked back.

My Bane spider has 8pts of KB protection, and I've yet to get KB from anything in game. I've been hit many times from many AVs including the AVs in the BAF and Lambda and still haven't been Knocked back. I'm sure there are many critters that can Knock me back, but have not had it happen yet.

But it's totally up to you what you feel comfortable with. Remembers Acrobatics only gives 7pts of protection, so if you have ever had Acro on any of your characters, at least you can use that as a measuring power to achieve the KB protection amount you want on your character.

I really liked Mr. Liberty's build, thanks for posting that. I'm thinking there may be a fire^3 tank in my near future, so I did some tweaking. Lost some S/L for more E/N, .2% from softcap with a small insp. Net recovery is a bit worse, with no conserve power to fall back on, not sure how that'll work out. Gained some hit points, recharge is the same. Runs a less powerful, but more end efficient ST chain.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or feedback.

Acrobatics gives 9 points of protection, actually.

For the -kb IOs, most people advocate grabbing one or three. One will cover most KB in the game, then there is another bunch that is above what two can cover, but three will cover. Even then, the Nemesis staff and a few GM KB powers will knock you back (rikti bombs and Jack of Irons, from what I can recall off the top of my head).

Three does make a good difference if you don't want to be knocked back all that much. My DA Scrapper (with 1 -kb) gets knocked around more than my Fiery Aura Tanker who has 3 -kb IOs. It's to the point where I am surprised when it happens on my FA tanker.
