Thinking of IDF for Lore...

am I stupid for thinking this pet for my crab?

I am only thinking about IDF because I already have the other 3 pets on my other 3 incarnates, and I basically wanted 1 character with each.

So far I am disappointed in my clocks, but the warworks and the seers seem to be peachy. I went total core ally / superior core ally on all 3 pets, and am thinking the same for my crab.

IDF Lore pets are about Melee Stuns, since they trend towards Energy Melee attacks. If you haven't got a whole lot of Stun powers to stack with that, you won't get as much return on investment with them as you might with some others.

Personally, I'd say simply hoard your Incarnate drops and wait for more Lore pets to be added to the listing. Black Scorpion is already on record as saying that the 4 kinds we have to pick now are by no means all we're ever going to get.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

IDF arent bad, but as mentioned there were about 3 projected new lore trees coming out along with the new trials whenever they are done testing

the ones mentioned coming out would be arachnos, carnival of shadows, and nemesis

I had tried IDF, and honestly I thought they were kind of underwealming

OK, well maybe I will get the Warworks for now (for the level shift) and hope for more spiders to join my glorious army!

Thanks for the advice guys.

Information, I assume, is gathered from one of the weekly developer ustreams.

I myself went IDF, and really like them. Yes it is energy damage, I have not noticed them performing stuns. Their melee damage is insane, I have seen them doing the exact same damage per attack as my brute (a stone/stone) has. Plus, Commander has a 16-target Whirling Hands. That's pretty awesome

If you feel like waiting, wait for the new pets. I dunno, having a squadron of Arachnos for an already mastermindy-feel character (assuming you are a Crabbermind, and have all those nice spiders) would be sort of cool conceptually.

As was said in Gran Torino, "Your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you've left behind", let CoH be one of those things. Don't forget, forgive.

I have all the crab pets and they are perma (well, unless they get killed early ).

I would have the patron spider too, but I couldn't sacrifice the powers to do so. As it is I have only 4 attacks, and only one of those is single target!

I haven't tried IDF but so far I've tried both Clock and Seer. My Fortunata was going to try Seer to complete my "theme" but then Seer does mostly psionic which I am already doing. I want to diversify my damage type so I picked Clockwork's energy.

Oh my... Clockwork may seem very slow but their single target range damage is very high. I like tier 3 Clock more than tier 3 Seer now. Oh, I don't use any of the buff pets because I am already a buffing machine myself. I just need more single target damage for my Fort.

I've seen Victoria doing some nasty damage but she is melee and melee tends to die sooner.

Remember one of the high level Villain tips has a mission where you need to rescue Silent Blade but she attacks you later? I can't remember the setup (maybe +0 or +1) but my clockworks kill her before she performs her first attack (because I can't target her while she is talking). I probably added one Dominate and that was it. lol I love Clockwork's Chest Beam. It does over 700 damage.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
