Vigilante merit question & SG question

flipside

I'm sure they developers thought they were being perfectly clear but I'm at a loss. If I go Vigilante I apparently loose all of my SG status without being kicked out.

Can I use my SG porter?
Can I use my SG storage racks?
Can I use my SG to make IOs like the university?
Will my reputation with the SG ( having made over 1M SG rep ) be gone?
I'm not but if I were the leader of the SG would I be demoted?

They talk about loosing merits... Which merits are these? Are they the reward merits I get from running a TF? if I become Vigilante will I not be able to gain reward merits from both side TFs?

Let me see if i can get this right. You trying to be a Vigilante NOT a Villain, Right?

If Vigilante then in order...

Yes
Yes
Yes
No (If by "Rep" you mean Pres?)
No

Aliment merits are for Hero and Villain Only, while Vigs/Rogs get Reward Merits, so if hero going Vig spend your Hero Merits before hand.

Anything else you like to know? I'll do my best and what i get wrong will be overlooked when someone who dose show up.

Going to miss the fun and nice people here at CoH. Feel free to add me on PS3/XBox360

Only if you go all the way from Vig to Vill then you will be demoted from overlord and you will stop earning prestige but will keep what you earned up to that point. Your name will be purple in the sg list. (And you will lose access to base and storage etc)

Want to emphasize this. I made this mistake and forgot to spend them before converting from Villain to Rogue>Hero once. 4 Villain Merits went poof that day.

You call them Hero merits... when I look in my salvage and it says "Reward Merit" is that my hero merits that I need to spend?

No, reward merits stay with your character. Hero Merits (Or Villain merits) are from running morality missions (tips) and are only used in Fort Trident/The Crucible to buy stuff) They vanish if you change sides.

No no, those are something different and you DO NOT lose them when converting alignments. Hero Merits or Villain Merits will show in your Salvage window as just that, Hero Merit or Villain Merit. You can identify it by the picture as well, as a Hero Merit will have the background of the CoH Hero emblem.

If you go Vigilante from WHERE? If you go from Hero to Vigilante, you lose NONE of those things. For almost every purpose (the exception being Fort Trident) Vigilantes are treated exactly like Heroes. Going from Hero to Vigilante has zero effect on your SG or use of Ouroboros.

Similarly, for all purposes except The Crucible, Rogues are treated as Villains.

Now, if you go to an OPPOSING alignment, you lose access to your base. You will be demoted if you are the superleader. You will not earn prestige (but you do NOT lose your total). You go to the version of Ouroboros appropriate to your new faction.

Another important point. It isn't a big deal but if you are trying to do tips in your "new" area to finish converting (ie from Rogue to hero or Vig to Vill) and try to use oro you will be sent back to your original side. I've made this mistake 4 times .

Just four? Compared to me, that's a good track record. I've made that mistake more times than I can count, including more than once on the same task force!
