Interesting, so is that implying that will be the major plot point for the Avengers movie?
It took me a second to figure out where the hell they were going with it, but then it clicked.

It's not a clear image but the guy talking to the doctor (not Fury, the other one) is Loki.
The thing in the box is a Cosmic Cube. It's been the maguffin in several Marvel plots. Basically it's an item which could give the user virtually unlimited power.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
