Question about Kinetic Melee...

In your opinion, is Power Siphon a MUST HAVE for Kinetic to be effective? I realize it's the Build Up power for the set but using it in game up to 22, I don't see HUGE gains from it and swapped it out for another attack. I just want to get some feedback as to whether or not it is a very needed power for the set or if I can live without it.

ALSO.....

Instead of a new thread I'll just ask my question on this one....

Moment of Glory, does it really only last for 15 seconds now? and does the usual Tier 9 crash come with it? Mids' doesn't say anything about a crash but I was just curious as to if there is.

Thanks in advance!

Firstly, I find it a must have, yes. Watch your damage % numbers in combat apps. Hovering between 40%-120% damage bonus more than half of every fight is nice, It is also the balancing factor for CS (which doesn't crit, it recharges siphon) AND (I don't remember if this is right) I believe you have to have it on to trigger KM's -dam debuff.

As for MoG yes it is 15 seconds, but it's on a shorter recharge timer, no longer prevents healing, reduces your health or crashes.

So basically, it's short duration but has ZERO downside other than that. It is god for breaking alphas (an old /regen weakness) so definitely keep it.

No. The -DMG is in effect all the time.

Yeah, I would never skip siphon. The -dmg still works with it off, but what it does do is transfer the -dmg stolen to you.
There are far better powers to skip in KM. I have skipped confront, and the KB cone on all of my builds.

You won't see huge gains due to how it works. You use it and then it starts to stack the buff whenever you attack up to 5. As mentioned, CS when it crits also let's it instantly recharge. This means you can stack it. It won't give out huge burst numbers, but it will be running rather often compared to BU. It's similar to Claws and DB in this regard.

I don't yet have a KM over level 10, so I'll just agree that everything said about that so far aligns with my on-paper understanding of the set.

No crash. 15 seconds doesn't sound like a lot, but it's 15 seconds where you practically can't die unless you have a sliver of life left. I use it to survive alpha strikes or ride out taking too much damage while Reconstruction is recharging. You can defeat a lot of standard foes in 15 seconds, which tends to significantly reduce incoming damage. So I use it to buy time, smack down stuff around me, and by the time MoG expires, what's left is much less likely to defeat me.

(The old MoG left you unable to heal and at 1/4 HP. The 1/4 HP and the high resists basically canceled out - you took ~1/4 damage but only had 1/4 HP. Unless it was Psi damage, in which case you were hosed. You also couldn't heal or regen for the entire duration. All those downsides are gone now. It still doesn't help against Psi, but it doesn't hurt either, and against everything else it makes you about 40x more durable.)
