84th month vet badge, "Loyal Customer", is now live.

Badge Text: For 7 years in City of Heroes you will be able to remote access the Auction Houses with the slash command /auctionhouse and gain an additional Character Slot.
Auctionhouse code works fine; no recharge, pulls up like AETablet does, just no emote (yet). The additional server slot adds did NOT award, however, that's still TBA, looks like. You do get 7 gift merits.

(Hrm. I got a bugged server slot add by accident earlier this month, around the time I used to get the vet award... wonder if that awarded early...?)

At least you're only a week ahead of the proper date this time, but it is weird that you got the server slot at a different time than your bugged Vet award. If that's not yet that much more evidence that the Vet awards are forever going to be screwy in this game I don't know what is.

You think there's suppose to be a unique new emote for this Vet power? That's the first I heard about that. Sure it would be cool but I'm not exactly sure that's going to happen. I suppose we'll see - maybe it's buried in the upcoming patch as an "undocumented" feature.

Yeah I've had my /auctionhouse bind buried in my pop-menu selections for over a month now. I linked it with the AE tablet emote so when I bring it up it should do that emote with it. But if it's suppose to have its own emote like Turgenev's suggesting I'll have to change that around. No big deal.

Oh, I make no suggestions, I just figured this is too good a thing to NOT make an emote for.

I like the idea of comboing it with the AE Tablet too. Hmm. /e laptop would work just as well too...

1. Yeah, I got a slot gift around the beginning of the month. I seem to recall others got something similar though, so I didn't make the mental connection with that bug and the 7 year slot gift until today. Wasn't there something screwy with the NC Store this month?...

2. I said "yet" by way of optimism, I just want to be clear. Try not to read too much into my childlike hope.

Yes, there was a bug that coincided with i20's release that caused some people to lose slots that they'd paid for and others to gain slots that they hadn't paid for.

THAT's what I was thinking of, thanks Chad. So... I wonder if I should /bug the non-award?... or is that me being greedy?... I could answer "yes" to both...

What is the earliest date someone is receiving this if they were continuously subscribed?

Officially, the 28th; but there are a batch of us who "drifted" in either direction over the years. Before the big correction last year, I'd drifted all the way to around the 4th of the month, getting it 3 weeks ahead of schedule. They've "fixed" everyone for the most part, but I'm getting it about a week ahead of schedule still.

I haven't heard of people drifting backwards (getting the reward later) since their big correction though.

I still think NcSoft would have made out a lot better if they would have sold this as a 7 year anniversary boost pack. There will be many people out there that will never see this vet badge as I doubt the game will go on for the next 7 years, I hope it does, but I doubt it.

Coulda made a boat load of sales

Sadly I think this is pretty much going to be the case for any unique Vet Award from now on. If a new player today is unlikely to see the 84th month Vet Award how likely are they going to see the 90th, 102nd or any others after that?

I almost think the current Vet Award system has outlived the idea of just being open-ended forever. I don't know what alternative there is for this at this point, I just the think something different should be done to avoid this ever worsening situation.

Quite frankly, I'm with the stop now or at the very least at the 100 month. All good intentions aside, I find it unlikely that anyone joining now will ever get 7 or more years out of this game.

I'm getting 72 months come June 25th.
