Ok so i have a blaster, tank, brute and now a mastermnd to 50. And i have fun on all but the blaster which was my first build and is all but worthless. ANYWAY back to my mastermind which i just recently got to 50 and im a nub when it comes to being a mastermind. i have looked up build suggestions as this is a common and apparently pretty fun build, but i need help on a few things still.
Whats bodygaurd mode?
Whats most affective incarnate slotting?
Any build suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I really don't care anymore. But, long gone are the days where people actually played their toons and not just rush to 50.

But if you want to know, the link below will describe all of the MasterMind features including Bodyguard.

I played my first toon up to 50, it was fun but then as soon as i started doing it for other characters it was uninteresting. The end game of lvl 50 characters is just way more fun and i can always go back and do all the little mishes if i want to. thank you for the link though. very helpful

Bodyguard mode is based on your pets being in the defensive/follow stance. The pets attack foes that attack you or your pets.

Demon Summoning benefits a lot from the cardiac alpha slotting. The endurance cost reduction affects the pets nicely.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Thank you very much, i understand bodygaurd mode and i clearly need to slot this character before i start negating my damage to my pets, and i was figuring on cardiac. just making sure on that one

Does anyone else have some good builds they've used? It seems as though slotting MM's is going to be a fairly unique experience. Is it even worth trying to find room for 5 LotG? Or does the lack of set bonuses for pets mean that Frankenslotting can be better than a matched set?

I intend to level the old fashioned way. I can backwards extrapolate from a solid 50 build, but are there any particular humps to look for? I don't mind respeccing a couple of times en route to 50.

You don't like my econo-build? Shadow Fall, Manuvers, Hover, Hibernate, Frozen Armor are all good candidates for the LotG Recharge reduction slots. I certainly DO frankenslot demon pets to get the most endurance reduction from attacks and auras.

Level 19-23 is kind of a dry spell for most masterminds. The big debuffs from dark come early though. Being able to take Fearsome Stare at level 20 will cover a lot of trouble.

Don't use that link. Wikia's pretty shady in regards to their advertisers and how they treat their customers, and the Wikia site is no longer updated anyway.

Use this link instead: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Mastermind

On the contrary - thank you for posting it. Just like to see a few different builds to get a feel for what will work best for me. In particular, I wondered if there was anywhere you could throw influence to get a noticeable performance bump. Thanks!

I have everything except the purple set in Howling Twilight, which I may not bother with.

My goals with sets were to plug any of my end issues, perma-Fluffy and global defence bonuses to stack with Maneuvers, ShadowFall and Frozen Armour to help my survivability (please note that global bonuses do not affect your pets).

As with "most" MMs, the issue is with pet endurance; during regular missions I find their end is fine, but I carry a couple of blue insps just in case (especially against Carnies). Against longer AV battles and Incarnate trials, I do find that my Demon Prince and Ember Demon (the one with the heal) are the first ones to suck end; but again, blue insps can help in this case.

One thing I would say about this build, is I haven't taken any of the primary attacks which slightly bugs me. I would've liked to have taken Crack Whip for the cone -res, but I couldn't find the slots for it to make it affective; in the end I took Recall Friend and Veng due to single-slotting even though they are mainly team-oriented powers.

Another nice-to-have for me is to be able to take Petrifying Gaze (as in the build posted by Psy). You'd be able to stack the hold with Fluffy's version of Petrifying Gaze and your Demon Prince's Ice Block (?). Again, I couldn't find the slots for this power.

For Incarnate abilities, I chose Musculature Radial for the Alpha slot. The reason being, the damage enhancement would affect all my pets (except Fluffy since he/she/it cannot be slotted for damage), the -tohit would affect Darkest Night and Fluffly, Immob for Fluffy and End-mod to boost my Stamina.

That being said, I must say it was a very tough decision between Musculature and Cardiac (which would great in those before-mentioned long battles); in the end, I thought in "most" battle situations, more damage would mean mobs dropping quicker and overall "saving end".

For Interface, I went for the Reactive -res ability; same reasoning as above. Although, it was a close-call between this and -tohit/-regen ability (Diagmagnetic?)

For Destiny, I'm in two minds between the +def/+res (Barrier?) or +rec/+rech.

Lore......no idea!! =oS

Flaming Dragon, I can see the allure of extra damage, especially for your lowest tier pets. For an additional counterpoint. Cardiac can viewed as a more defensive choice, too, since in addition to your endurance needs being addressed, cardiac can be slotted to boost your damage resistance on the radial branch. Damage resistance would benefit the ember demon's resistance aura, which is fairly big and buffs allies, and also shadow fall, which is the best dang resistance to psionic damage in the game.

Hi Psy, I did think about all your points with the Cardiac while choosing the alpha and that's what made it a really REALLY difficult choice =o(. I'm actually in the process of crafting a Cardiac to see the difference.
